Tax Advise need for UK self-employeed

Hi

Basically I am just in the process of filling up my tax return form. I am trying to find out whether the WSOs that I purchased are eligible for tax exclusion and where I should put them. Also I would like to know about where I should put down things such as eBay fees and outsourcing expenses etc.

Cheers.

    Hi,

My accountant puts my WSOs under "Software, Computer Equipment and Digital Information" or "Subscriptions" depending on the type.

Stuff like eBay and Outsourcing goes under "Web Services" and "Professional Services", respectively.

I let my accountant do all that stuff because it gives me a headache.

I do my tax returns online, its easier than a paper form, online it has a page for expenses with a miscellaneous section you can put wsos and eBay charges and things like that! Before claiming WSO expenses make sure the WSO is related to your business, hmrc won't look favourably if they investigate and find you've claimed for anything not connected! In the UK you can hire an accountant for around one hundred and fifty pound a year! They will claim for stuff you never thought you could and your less likely to be investigated!
