Default Be careful when you enter into any "Joint Ventures"

Someone emailed me this lesson and I thought I'd pass it on as a little food for thought. Although it is obviously a funny joke, it does contain a very valuable lesson we all need to pay attention to. Here goes...

Eddie wanted desperately to have sex with this really cute, really hot girl in his office...

But she was dating someone else.

One day Eddie got so frustrated that he went to her and said, 'I'll give you $100 if you let me have sex with you...

The girl looked at him, and then said, 'NO!'

Eddie said, 'I'll be real fast. I'll throw the money on the floor, you bend down and I'll finish by the time you've picked it up. '

She thought for a moment and said that she would consult with her boyfriend...So she called him and explained the situation.

Her boyfriend says, 'Ask him for $200, and pick up the money really fast. He won't even be able to get his pants down.'

She agreed and accepts the proposal.

Over half an hour goes by and the boyfriend is still waiting for his girlfriend's call.

Finally, after 45 minutes the boyfriend calls and asks, 'What happened...?'

Still breathing hard, she managed to reply, 'The bastard had all dimes!'

Management lesson: Always consider all potential outcomes of a business proposition before agreeing to it, or you may get screwed.

-----------
So remember, be careful that you fully understand what it is you are getting into before you agree to participate. And also, try to keep a smile on your face. It makes life a lot more enjoyable.

Many people have forgotten what JV actually stands for... it stands for Joint Venture PARTNER.

Just because you give someone 75% who has a big list, DOES NOT make them a JV. That is an affiliate there people.

A true Joint Venture Partner is more involved. There are agreements. You promote for me, I promote for you. Maybe do calls with each other for each other's products. Maybe make a product together.

An affiliate markets your product or service for a % in commission. If that's all you're offering your "JV"s then that's not a true partnership.

Thanks for posting...

I guess it is true...only 2/3 of the posters here ever read beyond the headline

No wonder these threads get off course faster than a duffer with a wicked slice...

Ummm. What does this have to do w/ the TOPIC?

Also, JFYI: It can be a JV when you give the person something that normal people dont get. For example, 75% commission could make it a JV if everyone else gets 50%.

Ok, I can see where you get that my post is off topic. I may have taken a different road than what you did when you posted.

Watch out who you JV with and understand the whole partnership or you might get screwed. I get it, but part of the reasons people get screwed is because they don't look at JV's as true partners. Because of that, people get screwed, or at least they feel they have been.

I had a launch, I had some "JVs" who said they'd promote for 75%. Part of that partnership was that we'd market their stuff to the list we were building. And just like with regular affiliates, only a percentage actually did what they signed up to do. Is that being screwed by JVs? It cold be looked at it that way. If you were expecting 50,000 and you only got 20,000, then is that being screwed? It could be looked at it that way.

If you had a TRUE JV partner where you both do work to release a product and someone either doesn't pull their weight and still wants half, or doesn't pay half, then that's being screwed.

I guess it all depends on your definition of "being screwed" or "Joint Venture Partner".
