Product launch swipes - do they really work?

Hey,

I've got a question about email marketing. I've been looking at the swipes from some of the top IM launches and... a bit suspicious. I mean, they're the same kind of emails I delete every day, right?
But all the biggest names are still using them. To they actually work?

    Hey,

    Yes they do work.

    However they don't work that well with people that are in IM or the "industry" but they are not aimed at you.

    Most of these emails are aimed at newbies and I daresay it are sometimes over the top.

    "Sell the sizzle not the steak" - Let's just say some of these emails are making the "steak" very well done.

    But to answer your question - yes most of them convert!
