The Role of Training in Internet Marketing

I wonder how important it is to receive some form of training in Internet Marketing. Throughout my working life, I have always sort to trained and gain some kind of qualifications relevant to the various positions I have held. I reckon that on average it has cost my employer or myself around £2,000 per annum.

I believe qualification are important as a backup to on the job practicable training because generally speaking they require someone to commit themselves to in depth studies concerned with the work they undertake on a daily basis.

I believe training is important as it helps discipline and direct people on actions required to meet their goals.

Now there are a few companies that offer Internet marketing training, the question is do people use these services and if so do they find them useful or do people just prefer to bumble along seeking that pot of gold at the end of the rainbow.

Some people actually use those services. For me, no, experience is the best teacher. It doesn't matter how much you've been told, you don't know for sure unless if you experience it yourself.

So without experience where do you start, so you are prepared just to trust to luck and hope that things work out, knowing from a statistical standpoint that you will most likely fail.

There can be failure and success - with or without training. I think that training is important because of the learning curve associated with internet marketing. That being said- some people like to try things on their own. If they don't quit...they will meet success or get training...

I'm the sort of person that likes training. Having the proper training can fast-track a lot of processes..as you will have a direct guide to performing whatever task it is effectively.

I would rather take a class on flying planes than go the trial by fire route and crash planes until I can fly (or until I'm dead..lol).

I think that a lot of people feel this way. Especially, in Internet marketing where there is a lot of time and money to be wasted if you make the wrong choices.

Training can take years of your learning curve. I used to think that experience is the best teacher - yes it is, but you can even take help of others' experience. Why would you waste 6 months trying to figure out stuff yourself when a mentor can guide you - DO THIS AND FIND THIS STUFF HERE...

I am all in for training BUT with that out of the way...WHO CAN COACH YOU WELL? You need people who work with you and not people who just drip feed you videos over the course of a few weeks...That's lame.

I am making pretty decent money online right now but I cannot name one person on the WF that has a good coaching program. I mean it and I am not taking names here but you guys probably know what I am talking about. I've tried that but not worked for me.

I would pay almost $1,000+ just for a good coaching program but IT HAS TO BE GOOD.

I think you have hit the nail on head here, the right training/mentoring can certainly provide
a fastrack to success, as regards coaching, that can be very personal, videos can be useful as back up but it is easier to learn in live mentoring sessions, where you can get questions answered immediately. This leads to another area when considering a training/mentoring program, it is important to know what kind of support will be provided.

Live support is an area which is often missing and there is nothing worse in my opinion, when you have a question and you have to wait days or even weeks to get a reply, by which time you may be thinking that perhaps the course is not for you.

The first course I took on Internet marketing was excellent and included manuals together with live mentoring spread over a period of six months or more, but I did have occasions when some additional live support would have been helpful, to my understanding of the task I was working on.

I believe that there has be a combination of the two. One cannot predict every instance that you may run into on the internet when it comes to doing business online. And each of those instances provide us the experience we need to improve our daily operations. However, training is what gets us started in any new concept or method.

Rapid technological innovations impacting the workplace have made it necessary for people to consistently update their knowledge and skills. Training is important to bridge gap between skills requirement and skills availability.Though we learn from experience it is still necessary to have a formal training.

I don't think training can hurt. In fact, the way I got into Internet Marketing was by buying a course. It was pretty elementary, and after a few months I realized that it wasn't the sole source of training out there.

For a while, I had shiny new object syndrome. What am I kidding, I still have it. I just try and manage it.

I do think training can help, especially for those of us with minimal success, and who are new to the world of Internet Marketing. Finding reliable, affordable training that gets results is the problem. There's a lot of crap and there's a lot of good stuff the average person can't afford. So you have to dig.

Training is individualized on the internet; that is to say that pragmatism in individual self-teaching is key.

With training there are three streams of learning.

The first is learning from doing.

The second is learning from peers.

The third is learning from experts.

Trying to do the job will highlight the roadblocks.

Learning from people who are currently doing the job, will give you a system so you can complete the job.

An expert will allow you to reach a higher level of skill.

It usually takes all three to become successful.
