2 Quick Tips for Affiliates to Increase Sales

I thought I would share two quick tips for affiliates to increase sales. The first tip is for Amazon affiliates and the second applies to almost any affiliate network.

~ A lot of affiliates look at their orders in the "Orders Report" section at Amazon but overlook the drop down box for "Items with No Orders". If you click on the arrow, you will see all the items people clicked on and looked at but did not buy.

Once you see what people are clicking on but not buying, you can go to your articles for these products and optimize them better. You may also get more ideas of what to sell.

And importantly, if you see just numbers instead of a product name, click on it as it may mean the item is no longer available at Amazon - so you need to change your product out.

~ Another tip which can be applied to almost any affiliate network is to subscribe to one popular magazine in the field. Even though magazines are months in the making,if they are targeted, they often share new nuggets of information.

I have a subscription to one magazine that runs me $12 a year. I routinely go through it and tear out the "best of", "latest news" etc. type articles. I scan these and get ideas for new products to add to my site. It saves time over having to constantly search the internet for new product ideas.

I routinely find great products that I can add to my sites, that are low competition but building up in searches. By the time the demand for that product becomes even greater, I already have my article in place and am near the top of Google.

I like the second tip a lot. I just ordered a couple subscriptions to marketing and business related magazines, looks like I'll have an added benefit!

I was referring to magazines in your niche. For example, if you have a golf website, a golf magazine might share the latest in golf equipment.

Rip out some of these "newest", "best of" "lastest" articles and keep them in a folder by your computer.

Next time you are online and have a few minutes scan the article(s) for products, quickly check searches and then check competition.

I run it thru Google Adwords. If there are enough searches (or if I think it is up and coming and I want to get in early) I then run it thru Market Samurai competition.

Within minutes, I know if I can compete for that product. If available look at reviews and seek out products that you feel give good consumer value.

Outsource or write an article on it, post it on your site and drive traffic.

I have found sweet niche products, ranked them and made bank in just days from using this technique.

      Click on Reports->Orders Report

Then you'll see the details of your orders broken into two sections

      1. Items with orders
      2. Items with no orders

Under "Items with no orders", click on "Show all items"

Go to your ORDERS REPORT section under REPORTS in your affiliate area.

Look in the middle section where it says "ITEMS WITH ORDERS". It lists all the items people ordered.

Under that it says "ITEMS WITH NO ORDERS" and there is an arrow.

It is really easy to miss, but this information is so valuable.

Click on that arrow and you will see a list of items that people clicked on from your sites but did not buy.
