This wasn't in my plans but it made me money

Hi All

I have a set of plans that I intend to stick with to enable me to make $50,000 this year and I made a post about this earlier.

Anyhow I came across the Groupon site early this week and signed up to receive their daily deals. I was purely intending to use it for myself. A couple of days ago I received a deal for a personlised calender.

Here in the UK they pay £6 ($10 appx) commisions if you recommend a deal to a friend. I emailed the deal to some of my friends who I know have children and just added the note "This will make a good Christmas Present"

Just made myself $50 and as this is the first time I have promoted anything I am quite happy. It will pay for the 3 domains I need for my business.

Only another $49,950 to go.

Good going! If you know people, personally, who are going to buy something anyway, and you are an affiliate for it. . . Needless to say, it is an easy way to make a little money.

Of course, it does not scale, but it is a good way to see that the whole process really works.

Best of luck in your goals!

    Hi Jay,

Congrats! That was some easy money. So how have the daily deals taken off in the UK? Are there many competitors?

Here Groupon and the others have an affiliate program. Having a blog with email newsletter that consolidated the deals for a specific audience (city and/or interest) would be a good business. Only downside is that you'd have to get up early every day to compile all the deals.
