Anyone have any luck with manual traffic exchanges?

I have used several of them over the course of several years and find in my experience that anyone who has money doesn't waste their time manually surfing, but rather they simply buy credits therefore these people are unlikely to actively surf and see your websites. On the other side you have people who don't buy credits and simply surf for them these people either don't have the money and/or are too cheap to buy credits so likely aren't going to opt onto your list or buy from you immediately. I have had some luck with list building and recruiting for MLM programs but the people simply aren't very active or responsive in any regard.

Traffic exchanges are highly dependent on having a branded squeeze page, a good sales funnel and of course a mostly freemium based model for your subscribers..

I have actually received pretty good results from traffic exchanges despite the typical IM industry belief that "traffic exchanges are crap".
