What do you want to see in a clickbank/paypal competitor?

Something is going on with Clickbank - there are enough posts here and elsewhere to show that. So I'm wondering what would folks like to see in a competitor? What features/benefits - what tracking/security do you want in a provider like clickbank, or even pay pal for that matter?

things like affiliate sales, tracking, security, delivery anything else you can think of....

One thing to remember is the real 800 lb gorilla are the credit card processors themselves, the Visa's and Mastercards of the world. They have some strict guidelines on how you can process payments that have to be followed, but within those rules -

what would you like to see?

thanks,

I think that is the biggest problem, clickbanks hands are tied in many ways by the credit card companies.

In turn people complain about clickbank. Easy solution get your own merchant account and affiliate system and the headache will probably be not worth your while.

True, but without an idea of what folks would like to see its not easy to create a replacement. My thoughts are running along the line of purchasing a small community bank and turning it into some sort of paypal clone with clickbank/ejunkie types of features.

Still curious of what others think/feel....

even if it gets the folks at clickbank thinking and fixing some of their apparent problems that would be great.

    thanks,

    variety of products.

Even on PDC...look eg. in the "health and remedy" section...there is almost nothing on there.

CB has a huge variety of often bizarre stuff, very good niches to dig into.....but my trust in CB right now is somewhere between -10 and 0.

ClickPal (or whatever it's called) would need to offer the following...

    1) Let the seller determine the sale price. Maybe ClickPal can give some feedback based on their knowledge of their marketplace, but the final decision should be up to the seller.

    2) Accept PayPal, credit card, Google checkout, and other forms of payment so that it's super easy for people to pay. PayPal and credit cards are the important ones though.

    3) A marketplace that's on a different domain than the payment processing portion of it. That way, your products don't get "tainted" by the junk that is out there. Sometimes, people associate ClickBank with junk products, but some products are top-notch. I think it'd be better to separate that somehow, so that people would view ClickPal as just your payment processor and not read anything more into it. Keeping the marketplace separate might help in that regard.

    4) ClickPal would handle paying affiliates. So, no worries about vendors taking the money and disappearing! ClickPal would also handle the 1099's and all that too, so you'd just need to worry about your own income and not have to chase after countless affiliates and try to get them to fill out forms and stuff. Let ClickPal deal with it.

    5) No dormant account fees or miscellaneous mystery deductions from your balance.

    6) More pro-marketer. By that, I mean they would understand that incoming payments may not follow any pattern. You might have an influx of payments one weekend because of your marketing efforts or a big launch or something, and then a trickle afterwards, followed by maybe a spurt again some other time. They shouldn't close or lock up your account unless there is real suspicious activity; not just getting more orders than usual.
