Selling "information" on eBay

Has anyone tried this before? I don't exactly mean selling an eBook but rather creating a listing that says, "I'll teach you how to do xyz" for a buy it now price of $0.99. What category would you list something like this?
#ebay #information #selling

    I think this would still fall under the same category as an ebook or digital good. Maybe I just dont exactly understand what you're saying, but it sounds like you're just rewording an ebook title to sound like a service like people do on fiverr. If you send them a download or text file it still counts as a digital good.

      Thanks for your prompt response Tmoby. I have reviewed the link you posted and I believe it may be a little out of date unless I am just not finding the option for the "list as digital item" as this line states: "eBay has allowed you to "List as a Digital Item" option in the Sell Your Item form".

    Are you going to actually be teaching something or are you going to be sharing information digitally? I'm also thinking that type of service would go in digital goods, but how would you deal with complaints/feedback if the buyer just didn't understand what you were teaching?

    i think its better to put in the category which you are trying to teach
    if you're teaching about electronics place it there, if you're teaching about gardening, place it there, that way, you have a wide range of categories to be posted on.
    it's like putting up billboard in front of your house and another one near the school, and so on and so forth.

      What I want to sell is information about how to make money online. Basically, I will say in the listing, "I will tell you exactly what to do to make X amount of money each time you complete a certain task." It won't really be an ebook since the content is so small. It really will only take one or two sentences to explain how to do what I want to teach. I hope that helps understand a little more.

        Selling digital goods on Ebay has restrictions.

        If you are going to sell digital goods on Ebay such as an ebook, the only way you can list it, is to use the "Everything Else" category - Classified Ads section.

        If you want to list it in a different section, then you have to deliver a hard copy to the buyer via mail.

        Here is a link to the guidelines;
