Whats up guys,

Im putting up a review site for an affiliate product to test it. If the product doesn't convert well, I plan on just putting up a different product on the site in the same niche.

My question is, will changing the content of the site like this cause its google rank to severely drop?

Yes, you will see a small drop in the rankings when making a big change.

But, why don't you just add to the website instead of deleting the review. You could have like a top 10 of the best products on the page and just put the best converting ones at the top.

I wanted to set it up as a mini site for one product. So that after I worked to get it ranked, I could just leave it and get paid.

One site with ten products would probably require more work and long term attention than having multiple sites that each focus on one affiliate product. What do you think?

Agreed! You very well could have a drop in rankings depending on what the new content will be saying. I'd suggest just adding to it, instead of deleting a whole bunch of stuff. If you use Wordpress.org you can easily make changes and post new content so that appears on the home page for your site, replacing the older content.

well, i think it is hard to say, maybe it can cause a increase, a slight drop, a huge drop or just a unsteady period of your Google ranking.
in my opinion, if your content quality is high enough, you do not need to have so much worry on this thing.
    good luck.

Yeah if you ranked for a specific keyword already, it will drop your rankings. The plus side is you'll still have the age of the domain..it may take some time to rank up again but if you ranked your first keyword then I'm sure you'll have no problem ranking the new one.

    Make it happen yo!

    Cheers!

If you change the content, you are undoubtedly going to have to change the META title and description and the URL of the content. If you have tons of backlinks to that URL you will lose those backlinks unless you do a 301 redirect from the old URL to the new URL. But yea, your going to see a slight drop anyway.
