Mine is a combo - inexperience combined with lack of funds for tech / software / outsourcing and only being able to work in the middle of hte night when the kids are asleep and the husband is at work.

I think my challenges are going to be an advantage in the long run though. I am having to learn a lot more by scratch and do more myself than people who have money to throw at problems.

Though maybe my biggest challenge is focus.. being A.D.D. and getting next to no sleep and having organizational issues anyway.. yah..

    that's my biggest challenge hehe

I am trying to develop a system of organization to combat that. Having a to do list that isn't on the computer or a piece of paper is a big help. lol!

I think we have a few problems to work on, one of the big ones is figuring out where to advertise. We've tried lots of different avenues, like in magazines and auto related newspapers, and found one newspaper that really does work well for us. We have ads online in pretty well any freebie site we have found. backpage.com seems to work well for us.

Our son is a biz marketing grad and he is suggesting we try banner ads on certain car forum sites, and that is definitely worth a try but some sites have such outrageous prices that this mom and pop biz just cant afford them.

I have a geek who is going to upgrade and refresh our website soon, so that's a good thing to have sorted out. Again, more money, but I get it you have to spend money to make money.

Winter is our slow time, so a good time to regroup and try to search out new ways to get out name out there so that we are ready to go in the spring. That also means it's the slowest time for orders, thus the money doesnt come in thru the winter like it does in the good weather...

Hey, sometimes offline ads might no get the good response as we expected, but have you try facebook ads or Google ads? As I realize, facebook ads is cheaper than Google ads and they are even more targeted to you market. Keep on friend!~
