What's your business plan?

Do you have a plan?

Or are you just turning your head this way and that at every latest IM product/WSO and saying, "Ok, now I'll do that one instead! Seems to work great!"

And then try it for a few days, hours, week, etc. until the next ultra-ultimate-power-millionairemaker-sensational-sexy-game changer, etc. product comes out that "Will change your life!"

You should have a plan of some sort.

A formal business plan to follow as a guideline for yourself would be great.

Know exactly what you are going to do and how you are going to get there.

Write it down. Write down the steps you need to take to reach your ultimate goal on your business plan.

And once you've identified the needed steps to make it, put those steps into action! Edit and revise as needed, but not too much. Stay the course.

Once you reach the ultimate goal of that specific business plan. What do you do?

Congratulate yourself, have a small party, treat yourself, etc.

Then?

Write a new business plan. Indentify your strategy.

Repeat.

So, what are you going to do and how are you going to get there?

Business plans are very good if the person involved makes a serious commitment to stand by his decisions.

      Yes, of course.

But if you don't have a business plan to start with, then you have no decision to stand by.

The first step is creating a business plan for yourself, and it can be quite simple.

The second step is actually following through on your business plan. But you've got to start with the first step.

Great post! I completely agree that a business plan is essentiall to succeed in any online venture you decide on.

You see a lot of products and WSOs promising this and that, but none really focus on developing a business plan (hint) and they should be everyones secret weapon, they are often more powerful than you realize.

I find that even spending some time focusing on what you want to achieve and then working out small steps to acheive that success and just writing things down on a whiteboard along with time frames and methods will seriously help you.

Focus and dedication is what it takes to become successfull in almost every job, internet marketing is no different.

Move yourself away from the hobby mindset and put yourself into the business mindset. A focused business plan we set you apart from the people running around like headless chickens.

Fantastic post. Yes, I think the majority of people on this forum are more than likely running around like headless chickens. I've had that problem myself, and at times still struggle with it.

Having a small whiteboard is a great idea. Put it by your desk. And use it! Don't let it just be another ornament.

Either that or at the bare minimum have a pen and notepad where you can write down your plans and what you should be doing to keep you on task.

  • I definitely agree with the value of a business plan. I would also like to add that a critical additional component is cash management plan. A plan without proper consideration of the cash flow implications is not really a great plan.

      Cool.

And do you have clear steps to get you there?

You say you will do everything within your power.

While I understand exactly what you mean I will make a point. Profits can explode when you tap into the power of other people (JVs, etc.) and let them do everything in their power to build up your income.

    I hear you in stereo!

Yep, got plans and taking steps that are clear. I say "as much as possible" because I know that sometimes great opportunities fall in your lap so I'm open to anything as well as having my own plans which could never be bigger than what nature has in store for me so I like to allow for amazing things. No time lines though. I work better with ASAP as my time goal. True about leverage as well. JV or die...is something I've heard said.

Yes, I think very few get ahead in this game without at least partnering or JVing with somebody some of the time.

Sounds like you're doing well, thanks for the comments.
