I am fairly mew and thouht that the best way to realy get going was to maybe buy a site and take over. What do ya think? I found several at flippa, from product dropship sales like the at flippa.com/2641603-profitable-sunglasses-business-dropship and a video site like flippa.com/2653431-automated-video-games-site-2700-games-ps3-ps2-wii-xbox-money-maker-autoblog

Who can help me know if it is true and if this is a good ways to go to start.

Am i kidding myself. Am i just getting someones esles problem?

Thanks for your thoughs.

For the sunglasses site, seems like it is a good deal, but you might want to ask about verifying numbers. $800 or $12,500 is a lot of money to put on the table for a site. However, for $800, it looks like you get the whole package.

In the end the big question is do you feel comfortable that you make it profitable as a site.

You can get some great deals on Flippa!

    a few tips.....

make sure you only buy from a trusted seller
    check sellers profiles and feedback
    do your due diligence
get clarification on anything you dont understand
ask questions in the sale comments
never buy above your budget (you can always move up later)
make sure you get training or some sort of support with the sale
and you can always negotiate to buy via escrow if it makes you feel better!

also Flippa has a massive forum and lots of help topics and stuff you can read to help you know how to use the site effectively and grab yourself a good deal!

    hope that helps - Kym

  • I would not expect to make a profit on the first site, at least at first. I would suggest spending an amount that you are prepared to lose. That way, you will not be let down if the project does not go according to plan.

Do the best you can, implement a plan and take what works onto other projects and leave the stuff that does not work behind.

If it looks to good to be true it is. There are good buys out there, but more that are...great ads with some marketing license(false). One thing to keep in mind is if there is real income the seller can build the same thing again.

If you're willing to make that monetary investment on a site than do it, but make sure you've done your due diligence on researching the site overall performance. But it never hurts to start from scratch as well with your own site. You may even gain more knowledge and experience building your own site...

The game site ... he can't give that site away. There's a million of them.

The sunglasses site. Do you like the way the profit chart looks? I sure don't. May be the reason they are dumping it.

He did say that he doesn't have the time to take calls and do other stuff for the site and that's why the income is declining. He does have one revenue screenshot which seems to show declining order amounts.

Seems like a lot of money for the site, but who knows ...maybe someone with more time could double or triple the profits.

Found it interesting that you are not actually buying the merchandise ... you are an affiliate for the manufacturer.

If you are new, don't take over some else's site. There will be a big learning curve for you and you will want to sell it to someone else. Get your feet wet. Find out what you like to do and what you can sustain interest in. Then put up a free blog in your niche. Then after you can make some affiliate commissions, launch your first product, run support, deal with the day to day for a few months, decide if you still want the headaches of running a site that you did not build.
