this is Pissing me off right now...

I just have a customer who bought the very same product twice I have on Clickbank, and I refunded him the first time...

but now however almost 4 months later since the refund period is over, he decides to file a chargeback to get his money back, and now I'm getting penalize for it.

He never contacted me to address his concern or question, but instead he has to hide behind a chargeback.

This is not fair for us vendors who spend so much time and effort into creating our product, just to have these freebie-seeker and free-riders take advantage of us like this and cost us money and rating!

It does hurt!

Chargebacks suck royally, but the rules are squarely on the side of the consumer. Nothin' to be done but accept it as a cost of doing business.

Jeremy, we apparently have had different experiences.

I have never lost a chargeback.

What do you mean nothing can be done?

You fight them. Provide the information and paperwork showing he bought the product and received the product. Here, in fact twice, and is trying to rip off the seller twice.

There is NO ground for a chargeback simply because someone wants a refund.

In addition to showing the attempted fraud, and that is a word you should use when appropriate, request that his bank cancel his credit card for violating his contractual agreement regarding use of the card and for making an improper chargeback request.

Oh how some customers suck but I guess if they are not happy, you have to refund their money. As long as you are earning a profit for the month, I guess things aren't too bad.

Yeah that's correct, file it as a business cost.

It is unfortunate but you do get these types of people.

They are often not sucessful because they don't let others be successful

Cost of doing business. If nothing ever went wrong, you wouldn't appreciate the good days.

I've yet to create my own product, be it I'm an affiliate marketer and I'd rather build huge lists. But I know eventually I will create my own product and this is definitely something I dread.

If you find a fix be sure to post it up on the forum! We'd love to hear about it!

    cheers!

I had this guy who would by my same product a few times per year then refund.

I suspect he was racking up the frequent flyer miles.

Anyway, do as I did and report him / her to CB. They may be serial offenders and will be duly blocked by CB.

In the Business dictionary under the word Chargeback is this:

It's just the way it goes. It pisses ME off to say that, but its true--especially when you learn that "certain" card companies (American Express I am looking at YOU) will side with the customer no matter what.

If you would spend more time working on selling more products, things like this would not bother you. Every business gets their share of jerk customers and refunders. There is very little you can do about it. So spend your time worrying about the things you can affect, and building your business is a much better thing to spend your time on.

You know the old saying, don't sweat the petty stuff, just pet the sweaty stuff. You will be much better off if you do that.

Couldn't agree more. It's a bummer but it's only numbers.
