I am new to using the forum and it's good to be here.

Maybe a loaded question but I am looking for ways to generate good solid financial leads. Any tips/ideas?

Thanks !!

    Hi Gary.

I used to generate leads for finance myself.
I would target the long-chain keywords that have estimates of decent traffic.
Experiment with a little PPC to find out the TRUE level of traffic.
If and when you find keywords that are giving you leads.
Assuming they have reasonably low levels of competition, try optimising meta tags for that particular keyterm.
Once you've tested it via PPC, get into the SEO side of it.
Let me know If you need more info.
    Best of luck.

Thank you very much ! !

I would like control over my leads but I would not be afraid to purchase leads or pay somebody to do it so if you have any suggestions I am all ears.

      Thanks Again !

        No problem Gary.

I would be careful with purchasing leads, many of them are stale you see.

Its basically like this, longer chain keywords= less traffic(but possibly more targetted) and less competition.
There is good money in the finance niche and where longer chain keywords are concerned there is gold in them hills.
On the first page of your site include an Iframe, to gather data from your prospects.
        Name:
        Age:
        Address:
        Financial status:
        Marital Status:
etc..........( I mean you'll know the criteria you need to search for, you could even ask your affiliate sponsor about that one)

Make the site look CLEAN, remember they are entrusting you with important data.
When you start getting the traffic, a trustee symbol or some kind of cert couldnt hurt.
        (helps conversions/leads)
You see when generating leads, your only asking for info which costs them nothing to give you, so you can expect higher conversion rates than if you were, say, selling a product or item.

        Best of luck

    Gary,

    1. Make a series(10-12) of short reports or tips about the financial market you are targeting. You will trade these reports for the leads contact information.

    2. Get yourself an autoresponder(Getresponse,Aweber)

    3. Setup autoresponder to send these reports out one at a time

    4. Make yourself a landing page(use wordpress) with an optin form(get code from autoresponder). Give information about the financial market and give the reports you have in the autoresponder away for free. All lead has to do is optin using the form on the landing page. When they optin they will be sent one of your reports. You will now have their contact information. Continue to drip feed these other reports to them sending them more information and products to buy from you.

Do not buy leads. I spent thousands doing that until I figured out the only control you have over leads is if you generate them yourself. You have to have a strong stomach with buying leads.

    5. Drive traffic to your landing page in the many ways talked about in this forum.

Hope this helps. Just a quick overview. I have done this many times when I was promoting network marketing companies.

The trick here is to give something of value away free in exchange for their contact information.

    Here's to a great 2009

Do you see the glass half empty or half
full? The difference can mean success or
    failure.
The simple things seem to be the most
    effective and most overlooked.

What this man has described here is known as an incentivised lead.
I would be careful with this, as even though it will improve the amount of leads you get, If you are earning more money for that lead eventually becoming a full client then you can expect lower cases of full clients coming from incentivised leads, because a fair proportion will give you info because they just want the freebie.

      Food for thought..........

Depends on the relevance of the Freebie. A highly
relevant white paper or report that encourages people
to order you $5.95 CD or your simple $15 kit, etc.

My term is "Down the rabbit hole" - create a marketing
system that effectively nurtures and develops leads
in prospects and customers. Of course some people want
freebies.... because they have no money mostly so
    they wouldn't buy anyway.

Building a proper followup system that hits them with
readable, exciting email, direct mail and telephone is
a lot of work - but doing it can easily double your income
    from lead-generation marketing.

Using the proper keywords will help to get

a more targeted audience visiting your landing page

and not just a lead looking for a freebie. I also said

the freebie should be something of value that the targeted

lead visiting your landing page would be looking for anyway.

If you are very general with your keywords, you will attract
much more of these freebie seekers. I do agree with what
you say with regards to this.

      Just my experience.

Yeah I agree with you there.

So long as the incentive is targetted, it would be a good idea.

If you are knowledgeable in the industry, write articles and submit them to article directories. Even better, subscribe to several targeted newsletters and offer to write articles for them with links to your squeeze page. This industry as a whole is extremely jittery right now, and will take some expertise to generate leads in this market.

I would create a squeeze page with a video on there and a opt-in form and advertise that page to you target market using ppc or other means of advertising...
