Default What is up with all the watch me threads?

Now Pearson's was great but I noticed more and more of these threads popping up. I am just wondering why that is?

Is there a reason why you can put it on a blog here instead of bumping the threads up each and every day?

We are missing some great information. For example Kurt posted some great info on how you can automate content and there is hardly any replies to that while I am seeing "Watch me make so and so in 1 hour" threads.

I do notice wso's are spurting up from the same people that want to be watched.

Yeah, I've noticed the same thing. Probably would be better in a blog.

One thing you can walk away with though, since you noticed it, is what people seem to pay attention to, and want right now. They want to watch other people.

Maybe it’s because of all the reality shows on TV these past few years where everybody gets to watch over everyone else’s shoulder. Who knows.

Might be something to pay attention to. Which of course, you have been doing Thomas. Nice Job.

I used to watch them...still do, but I always notice an epiphany by the OP half way through the thread that he should start a WSO. Then, low and behold, a WSO emerges - even though no actual proof was given - in most cases. (Just, Hey this is what I did and it worked.) And we are just supposed to believe it.

Im burned out on them.

But, warriors like Jeremy Kasall I trust - but those type people do show results and should be rewarded with selling WSO's - But there are only a handful of those warriors

I can't keep up John. I need Allen to install some type of vcr recorder so I can sit back and watch my reruns. The watch me threads do all start sounding the same.

I am glad you appreciate my work John.

I suspect the main reason for them all is self-promotion for an upcoming WSO about their "watch me" plan. Although the few watch me threads I've seen didn't end up achieving what they setup to do.

It's hard to figure out the intention so I don't report them as "promotional". So once one stays on the imitators jump on board and now we have many watch-me threads.

I don't think they belong in the main forum. Maybe mind/success forum instead? I dunno so I don't nuke. They seem to motivate others.

I think it is obvious why people do them -- because they get a lot of views and attention.

I don't think I've seen one be turned into a WSO yet, but maybe I have missed one?

I thought those would be better as blog posts on here instead of constant bumping.

I will start one soon called Watch me avoid showers for two weeks and still stay married.

Week one, smelling good and the wife is happy.

Week two, I thought I lost some fish in the bed but found out it was me. Wife not so happy.

Week four, I am living outside now and the dogs won't go near me.

Yep, you missed a few.

They may have not turned into a wso but they ran a wso soon after their threads started. Good forum marketing or evil spammers.

Thomas,

It's just a sign of the times. If you're gonna have an IPhone, you might as well have a WatchMe to go with it.

Think of it as a fashion statement.

Yes they are self promoting. Jeremy nearly every one of them ends up as a WSO. Maybe not when they start, but certainly by the end, and the follow up ones as well.

They are forum spammers really, because too many of them say watch me make, and then follow it with how do you think I should do this.

I'm going to make $20,000 in the next week creating software, what software do you think I should create Thomas, and how do I start? For anyone not understanding, I know nothing about programming except being married to one

The $$ goal and timelines seem more to make a sensational headline than with any realistic plan and I've yet to see one MEET the goal set. What's funny to me is so often the same people posting "you can do it" (how do they know that?) in the beginning are posting "it's ok you didn't reach the goal" at the end. Goal and pipe dream are not the same thing - but we may be alone in not liking those thread as many seem to find them motivational.

We had the same "watch me" and "challenge" threads in the old forom - but the minute a WSO was mentioned, those were deleted. They seem to come in waves - when one such thread gets a lot of posts and attention, a dozen more are started.

I read the threads that outline what a member DID successfully - those are much better.

Same here Kay. I was pretty excited reading Kurt's post earlier today and it is hidden away from all the other threads. I am a little worried that people will stop posting great info here if it just gets buried.

I remember the watch me threads on the older forum but not nearly as many. Maybe I was just blind to them.

We can report them but I am a little hesitant not wanting to overstep my mod powers and all.

I figured if they are not wanted then the Godfather (Allen) will say something.

ID shilling - HERE?

Gee, could that account for the suggestion in the middle of such a "watch me" thread that "this would make a great wso"?

To which the OP replies - "you think so? I never thought of that"....

j/k - but sometimes that exactly how it sounds.

The best way to handle this type of thread is the second they mention running a wso report the thread. One of the forum rules is you can't advertise upcoming wso's in the main forum so the thread should be reported at that point.

Just by nuking the threads where wso's are mentioned will clear out most of the problem.

I don't know, because I'm not on the inside. But I would guess that they know an easy way around that one.

It's interesting following some of the 'thanks' comments. It looks almost like there's a little UK network, and I keep seeing connections with a certain 'alleged' brat with an attitude problem. Whether the brat is actually real, who knows?

When you look into it a little, it certainly becomes clear how easy it would be to manipulate a lot of things with a network for adding thanks, bumping threads, adding fake 'I just bought' comments on WSOs.

And if you call someone out in a thread, it's interesting how people seem to forget what other peoples' names are - perhaps they're juggling too many?

And then you've got tag teams with one person running a WSO, and the other half is posting related threads in main discussion - and the other half just happens to admit to having two ID's - because they 'forgot' their password, but 'found it' again - so now both ID's are active.

The real negative is that it can be discouraging for people who enjoy helping out and sharing knowledge just for the sake of helping.

This is what really worries me. I can't tell you how many WSO's I've looked at where about 90% of those comments were by brand new members to the forum. I didn't notice at first, until I bough a WSO that sucked. At that point I realized that many of those "reviews" could be fabricated or made by people within their network.

About the only thread in the "watch me make" batch that I've followed was TommyGadgets one where he was flipping the site in 24 hours. I knew that he wasn't just trying to get attention so, it was interesting to follow.

As for the rest of them, I don't put a lot of weight into someone with 4 posts proposing to tell me how to make 100 a day spread out over the next 90 days lol

I think if they are making the posts as motivation or because they are really a master of their craft and want to give a little back to the community then great, but after reading this thread earlier, I decided to follow a couple threads. I found that most of them were overly promotional and probably didn't deserve to still be alive.

What was really odd is one of them is running like 4 WSO'S and another guy with like 40 posts is replying to his threads with the OP'S wso in his sig? **** is just getting confusing now

Hi John,

OK, this appears to be proof that WSOs are being shilled, and the network used to do it has ID's that date back to 2006.

As you will see, I had some shenanigans on a recent thread here -

http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...tml#post434290

And this is the one where the 'tag team' is running a WSO, and one of the tag team admits they have two active ID's, and the thread in question is all about using social blogs - same as the WSO.

If you take a look at the WSO -

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...uaranteed.html

...and then look at comment number #11 - which is from a 'buyer' who apparently has nothing to do with the above mentioned IDs, do you see the website in the sig file -

See the theslidesharesecret.info sig? And apparently he's their first affiliate of one of their products, as well as a buyer of the WSO.

Well domain tools has an interesting twist -

Theslidesharesecret.info - The Slide Share Secret

It seems that the domain of the WSO buyer is owned by the creator of the WSO. Interesting.

ExRat,

Nice damn work!!

I knew something wasn't adding up there. Now the proof is right in from of my face.

As clever as the scheme seems to be, you would have thought they would have come up with something better than $35 a day in 90 days

Yep, more self promtional garbage rammed down our throats everyday.
Followed by a crap WSO
Must be a new ebook out.

ExRat,

The video on the sales page for slidesharesecret . info ....

The guy making the video says his name is Garland Robinson

So, the same guy is Garland Robinson, NGmedia, MarketerGuy, and I would venture to say a few more that posted in the same thread.

It's getting interesting now lol

A little homework on his partner throws up numerous ID's too.

Yes, but as they're saying he's an affiliate, they can use that as an excuse - IE - he is using a pre-prepared salespage. It also has Dennis's name at the bottom.

But the fact that Dennis owns that domain, cannot be explained - because IF spike11 is that close to them, why's he buying the WSO and praising it?

As mentioned, what is most disturbing is the age of the ID's. This means the network of ID's has been created since at least August 2006. How many could you create in that time, that are going to look genuine due to the age and the post-count?

I notice some of the other websites in the other sigs of the buyers of the WSO are suddenly going offline.

Fly under the radar, get them on your list and in your membership site, and take it from there.

Roger,

I see what you are saying and it definitely is a scary thought.

It will be interesting to see just how many affiliate ID's are attached to this "group". What's even my scary is the fact that if this guy has done it, there are others that are doing it as well.

I guess that's my point. If I'm going to spend my time here, and find that every time I straighten someone out about misinformation, I don't want to be left with the feeling that the five people I'm arguing with are all the same person, trying to promote a WSO.

Thomas,

See what you started here?

Now YOU have to watch me watch Roger watch these guys so we can watch out for the newbies who might fall for this crap.

P.S. - I wonder if Roger is starring in the new Watchmen movie being release soon?

There are three things that I have noticed.

1. The watch me as I (don't) make $XXX in XXX Days. Attractive because it seems easy and has a short time scale. Nothing about building a business, just making money. Upfront promotional, but, in a way, at least it's honest.

2. WSOs by people who, in the space of two months, go from complete newbies to earning a decent income. In that two months they also learned HTML, photoshop, advanced listbuilding, helped Jeff Walker write his product launch books, got JV partnerships with unnamed gurus (Non-disclosure agreement!) and posted a well-run, copybook WSO.

3. In WSOs where people are challenged as to their credentials or possible scamming, the owner of the WSO comes over as all righteous and threatens to report the poster to Allen. These type of people also seem to make 50% of the posts in their own WSO and actually openly ask people to make a comment/post their receipt.

These are things I have seen. What they mean, I don't know.

Let me throw a spanner in the works here. You will see in one of their WSO I asked a question, which hasn't been replied to.

http://www.warriorforum.com/warrior-...ge-google.html

Here are some facts.

On the old forum Garland ran a wso about Slideshare.

I bought it, because I wanted to know what they said. Basically it was crap, they say it is the perfect way but it broke most of the rules, and their results were so vague it wasn't worth the effort.

WSO Archive - Slideshare - TARGETED 100% FREE TRAFFIC | WarriorPlus

Now the testimonial in Dennis' wso makes it sound like Garland had just discovered slideshare and had followed Dennis' instruction.

Slideshare is great if used correctly, but from the wso that Garland and others have done, the things they missed out causes people to wonder why it works. There are too many steps that going in all guns blazing you will miss.

For the past 18 months or more I have been on page 1 for a major make money keyword, and according to Garland and his perfect way of doing it, I did everything wrong, but 18 months on page 1 of google might say something different.

Let me give you some more facts. That slide that Garland is supposed to have done using Dennis' methods was posted on slideshare 11 months ago.

I just went there and checked to see if it was the one Garland did as a perfect example of how to use the site.

Here are the stats today.

It was uploaded 11 months ago

remember this was a WSO so come of the views would have come from there.

I decided to do a "not perfect" slide according to the WSO. It was uploaded about 5 hours after the WSO was released.

I wonder how many user names Dennis is working here.

Here's another potential one - notice the sig file...

It also seems the Garland Robinson is Dennis' partner which means
that testimonial is fake for starters.
