Can Testimonial Increase Your Sales?

People got used to believe other people and not the content of the website. That's why it's so important to collect positive reviews from your clients.

After your client got your product, don't be lazy and ask him if he liked it. And if he did, send him an email asking about his experience, what he liked about your product and what he would like to improve.

If possible provide live testimonials from forums. like me most of the time i buy products from WSO because i know the testimonials are not fake and can even pm the customers who have tested the product to get more information.

I agree. Testimonials are really powerful tools even though they got a bit dulled by the increase in number of people on fiverr offering to give testimonials. However, if someone reputable or someone who can be traced, gives a testimonial, I am more likely to place my trust in the person's product.

Are you asking if testimonials work or are you explaining that they indeed work? Confused by your title and then your post.

It is as if you asked and answered your own question.

But in answering the title question, yes, I believe that testimonials do indeed work and they work well when given the person's name and if they can even contact them to validate the testimonial.

I always ensure there's some form of testimonial request in my final emails I send to clients.

As an incentive I offer 10% off their next order if they submit a review.

TrustPilot.com is a good review site to consider too in addition to presenting your testimonials on-site.

I would say that testimonials will definitely boost sales, they can't hurt. A testimonial is like a review, and most people (if they're smart) will research others opinions prior to purchasing product.

Testimonials work in almost any market, usually the more the better. They work best when given by word of mouth, or with the actual letter they send. Text based testimonials are not the best solution, but it is what is easiest to work with.

Testimonials (and even more so reviews) are called social proof. No one wants to be the first to buy something.

It's the same as when you go to a new ethnic restaurant. You wait and see how other people are eating the food before you do.

A great book on this is "Influence. The Psychology of Persuasion". It's a good read and it's funny when you read emails from others who copy straight out of the book.

I make sure to put at least one testimonial on every page! It has increased my sales by adding them! I tested it out at first (split test through Google Website Optimizer) and it proved that having testimonials was better for my conversions than not!
