Anyone using Pay Dot Com for Membership site?

Does anyone have experience using Pay Dot Com as the payment processor for a Membership site? I am considering doing this but am bewildered by a few things:
  1. What mechanism do I use to get new member information from Pay Dot Com in order to create a new account? Ideally I would like this to occur automatically, can this be done?
  2. I believe that I would have to define each membership level (i.e.Silver, Gold) as a different Pay Dot Com product, is this true? How does a member upgrade their account, and will the original affiliate be credited with the upgrade?
Any information would be most welcome.

    Depends really on what membership software you're using and whether it supports PayPal IPN.

    I use PDC as the affiliate prog for my niche database site and it was just a matter of figuring out what comes back from PDC IPN (as that will replace the PayPal IPN) and modifying the script on my site to accept it.

    There is a certain amount of similarity between the two, but they're not exactly the same.

    There is a PDF you can get at PDC which helps but I found the most useful thing was for it to call a script on my site that I found somewhere that emailed me the actual variables and amounts so that I could work out what to use.

    I would post the script here but it isn't mine and I can't remember where I got it from, but if you would like it just send me a PM.
