Duplicate Content, publishing on 2.0 Blogs AND article directories

Hi there,

Can/Should I submit (original) content that I first published in hubpages, squidoo, etc. to article directories like ezinearticles and goarticles?

Will google see this as duplicate content? I'm starting to accept the fact that I simply don't have the time to write quality unique articles everytime!

Google doesn't see it as duplicate content, that's when you have the same thing twice on one site. Yes you can republish articles but you should get them indexed on your own websites first. OK Hubpages and Squidoo like original content but a bit of rewriting doesn't do any harm as long as it's not rubbishy spinning.

It is recommended that you first publish unique articles on your site or your primary web 2.0 site.

Then you change a few words here and there, and submit the variations to different article directories.

Just make sure you have unique article title, and resource box for each article.

You can and you should! As long you leave a url back to the original website like ezine does it's not duplicate, it's syndicated content.

Just make sure that before you begin posting your content on different article directories and web2 that your content is first indexed at your home page. You don't wanna give credts for your work to someone else!

There were a fellow Warrior that explained syndicated vs duplicate content to the core, but unfortunately i don't remember his name

Google will not see this as duplicate content. Provided you are the author AND you always publish under that same author name, there is no problem with you publishing one article in multiple locations.

Contrary to multiple erroneous posts throughout this forum and elsewhere on the internet, the only time Google sees content as duplicated is on your own website or blog.

However, the best approach is always to publish on your own website FIRST, then subsequently to other locations, after it's been indexed by Google on your own website.

On blogs especially, duplicate is often created within the themes, (this is fault of the designers and not of the WordPress software itself) which tend to come with a lot of duplicate content out of the box.

Evidences of duplicate content produced by your WordPress CMS can be found in your sidebar. They are category pages and monthly/daily archives, etc. Category pages store your articles posted under the same topic such as a category. Such pages have no unique content; they are just a collection of your previous posts. Monthly and daily archives also simply group your previous articles by the date of posting. Sometimes when you have only one post in a given day, the archive page for the date and your post are totally identical.
