I just uploaded 100 video clips to youtube in my niche and I thought to myself why auto blog when I can just fill my blog with all of my videos thus making an awesome info sight that will not get banned or delisted because its already been made. I can then take my time to submit pages to other websites or I can flip the site and let other people monetize it for the next six months. whats your thoughts on this alex |

The key to auto blogging is to make the posts "drip" over time, so they look natural. I would suggest not just making a video blog but combining a variety of content to post. I use caffeinated content, some original posts, and also reviewazon to make my blogs look totally natural. Start off just auto posting 1-2 times per day for a period of a couple of months. Then build links for your keywords and you can start ranking. The days of throwing up a quick site and ranking well in 1 week are over. look at it as a 3-6 month endeavor and google will love your sites. Build slowly and they will come.

what XL said. If it doesn't look natural, the bots will flag it fast. After all, if YOU were a bot, and you came across a site with 10,000 pages that was only bought / created yesterday, what would you think/ Fast typer? Spam? Pretty obvious, isn't it? What's NOt pretty obvious is where the cut off is. Which is why the previous advice to keep it natural is so good.

i would definitely add unique content too as well as RSS feeds. They are often better for getting pages indexed as opposed to articles off EZA and similar Article directories.

Both approaches have their pros and cons. Drip feeding helps keep the spiders coming back frequently and gets your links spread out into various ping sites over days/months/years. SEs like updated sites and fresh content can often get you high rankings, so having fresh content daily/weekly/etc can help with rankings. The downside of course is that if you limit yourself to just one or two posts per day it takes an entire year to have 300-600 posts/pages on one site. Uploading a lot at once is an excellent way to jumpstart things and plenty of retail type businesses put their entire catalog of 10,000+ products online at once. The key here though is to keep links coming in, buzz going, etc. The primary thing that matters in my experience is consistency. If you post 100 new products/articles every day, day in and day out, you're not likely to get penalized/sandboxed or otherwise because that's just your company's standard. And yes there are companies which have a pool of employees posting daily, so it's not "unnatural" for that type of size of a company. If you think about it, EZA is a great example of this. Do they limit themselves to 2 or 3 posts each day or do they have hundreds of new pages published each day? Google doesn't know what's "natural" for your particular site, so you can train it to believe anything you want. Thus consistency. Post 2-3 articles (content/whatever) each day or post 200-300 - as long as that's your "average" then they'll see it as natural. I have some sites which start with 100 posts and then get new ones published 2-3 times each week. I also have sites which get 20+ posts in a day most of the time, 5 a day sometimes, and some days there are none (aka weekends). If you only post 100 things up then never anything else, you have to work extra hard on links and buzz plus you may still have the whole sandbox issue for 6 months or so on a new site. |
