Powerpoint question...

I see how to add video to a slide -- but... is there a way to put images OVER (on top of) the video WHILE the video is playing (on the slide)?

PS: I have the older version of pwrpnt (on XP).

Thanks!

The answer to the audio question is that you can put an audio track in the slides and set it to play or loop through the entire presentation. I have done it in XP PPT 2003.

I am not sure how to accomplish your video overlaid with slide content goal in ppt 2003, but if I had to accomplish that, I would probably resort to camtasia, record the ppt presentation and audio, and then import to Sony Movie Studio to lay down an overlay or partly transparent slide track over the camtasia track and generate it to video.

Maybe someone else can offer a simpler way?

Which screen capture software are you using. better go to Youtube.com and search around there. I'm sure you get something helpful there.

I would tend to agree with what Sfrew said. I don't think PPT has the capability to overlay graphics, but If you edit the video in almost anything (camtasia, WMM, Adobe Premier, etc) you can do that. You can then adjust the size of the video once you put it into PPT. Hope that helps.

PPT does allow you to overlay graphics. -- one on top of another.
It also allows you to put a video onto a slide (and reposition it + size it, etc.)
I just can't figure out if it allows you to overlay a graphic on top of a video.
I haven't been able to get THAT to work yet. When the slide is played, the video always ends up ON TOP, even though it was underneath, when the slide was composed.

What's the secret? Or is it just not allowed for some reason?

I'm at the same place as TimothyW. I can do everything mentioned above but CANNOT put a graphic on top of a video. Maybe someone knows?

Maybe the PPT programmers were out sick that day. :-(

If you're asking what I think you are, all you need to do is right-click the image/video and select the 'Send to Back' option.

I can only presume that there is another command in the same slide that is conflicting with it or you have found a bug. Have you ran Windows Updates to see if there are any Office updates available?
