What aditional conversion rate can I expect?

OK, here's the thing.

When visitors who opted-in on my squeeze page confirm their email, they get sent to a free video (which is what the opted-in for). On the same page with the video, I pitch my paid product and try to get them to buy it.

Somewhere between 3 and 4% of the people who watch the free video also buy the paid product. So far, this is all the sales process that's in place.

Now, I'm setting up an auto-responder series with the goal of building a relationship with my list and getting even more of them to buy my product.

And I'm wondering, if 3 to 4% of subscribers buy initially, what additional percentage can I expect to buy in time, if I follow up with them via email effectively?

Is it realistic to hope to double the total percentage of subscribers who buy my product? What's your experience on this?

My initial guess was double and I find it interesting you were thinking the same. So I think double to a good goal to strive to achieve.

No idea but I don't think anyone can tell you because markets and marketers are all so very different. All I can say is that it's a very good idea

It's very difficult to say, in abstract, without seeing anything. And I don't use video and have no direct experience anyway and probably shouldn't even be posting. But my instinctive feeling is that doubling the proportion who buy the product - by using an email series, if you go about it the right way to try to secure the highest possible open-rates - would be a pretty conservative estimate, and that you could quite easily do a little better than that, over a period of time.

I may be wrong, but that's how it seems to me.
