Hello,

I am just getting my head around thunderbird and I am just adding all my accounts I dont have any pop3 accounts all mine are like info@plasterersforum.com ect ect.

In outlook you can make it so when you delete the email message it deletes it off the server too is there a way to do this in thunderbird?

Cheers

Danny

You need to right click the Trash icon and select "Empty Trash". That should delete it permanently from the server.

    Hi,

The way I do it is as follows:

Open up Thunderbird. Go to Tools -> Account Settings

Click on the account you want to setup (info@plasterersforum.com), and click on "Server Settings".

Look for the square labeled Server Settings and make sure the "Leave Messages on Server" is not checked.

    Hope this helps.

When I click on my email account a screen comes up on the right which has several options. One of them is "view settings for this account." When I click on that, I get a screen that has "server settings," right under the email account. In server settings is an option to "leave messages on server." If it's unchecked, it deletes the messages from the server.

Since I have pop3 accounts, I don't know if it applies to you. I hope it helps.
