How Would You Monetize this Site?

I own a website that provides help for people struggling with porn addiction. It brings in 500-800 visitors per day, but it does not convert in a lot of sales for me.

Originally I thought people would give donations, but that is not happening. I also have adsense and affiliate ads placed on the site but those convert very poorly.

I have a 1000 people list, but that also doesn't seem to provide any revenue...

I was wondering, how would you monetize this site? I want to keep the general model of giving out information for free, but at the same time I would like to make some extra money to pay my bills.

The site is here: How to Stop Porn Addiction - Free Help Overcoming Pornography

Thanks!

You could offer your original course, then upsell another course? Granted you would be in the minority of websites for curing porn addiction as I assume most of them would be in the charity organizations, so this one has me stumped. Ill check back if I get an epiphany.

Edit: You could take a look at other porn addiction sites, see if you can pick anything out from them

  • If I was you I would make a free ebook and in the ebook let people know some of the things they could do to help them but offer them a full version for a small fee.

Ditto unlimited earnings. The best approach you could take is by giving a free report. Follow by a fully extensive guide about how to over come their addiction which you can charge a small amount. Do not charge that much as you have to gain their confidence first. Once you have build up a trusting relationship with your list then you can offer products at a higher price.

I actually do have a fully extensive guide, which I give out with affiliate links in it. I was hoping it would make money through affiliate sales...

The thing is when I started this site I made a promisse that I will not sell this information for a fee (kind of like Marke Samurai and their free keyword research tool) so I am really in need of other ways of monnetizing.

My gut feeling is that I should just let this site be, and start a new site for the purpose of earning money, but it is just hard to walk away from 500the visitors a day and all the work that it took to get there...

Well, like I said I do get at least 500you visitors per day all from search engines, so there definitely is some interest in the subject. But I do agree that those are probably not people looking to buy something.

You may not have a background in this, but what about an online course or a membership site. They could pay $10 a month and have access to a forum where they can discuss the issue with other folks who have the same problem. Just a thought.

I think you need to answer some questions like:
    • What kind of market is there for this?
    • How many people are looking to stop?
    • What drives them to want to stop?
    • What kind of professional services are there available fot them?
    • Are people willing to pay for info?
I see you have #1 & 2 spots on page one of Google for the search : stop porn addiction. There's lots of free info out there. I also see there are around 2 million pages returned for that search. I think you have to ask yourself if there's really a viable market for this. It appears so but it might be a pretty thin market.

    Remove adsense and everything man.

Just gain an email list, and sell them a product on "How to Easily Get Rid of Porn Addict in 5 days" or w/e
