It seems that Google is about to launch an iTunes equivalent soon.

Google's strategy seems to be to throw spaghetti on the wall and see what sticks.

And, as they continue to do this, I think there's a good chance they may start to die from the center out.

That is, their core offering is search. As they move into all these other things, they chance losing focus on search.

They are trying to compete with everyone and everything. But, when some of these competitors get together and decide to go after the search market, then Google may have problems on its hands.

Google may be the dominant search engine now, but I think a lot of people use them out of habit rather than because Google has the best search results, which I don't think is necessarily the case anymore.

Looks like google wants to step into every niche possible and occupy whole internet.

If google kept on working like this then maybe after some years we will just find google everywhere on the net !!

Like- google music, google weightloss, google body tonic,etc LOL

  Google have this thing where they try things out and drop them if they fail
  
  Remember google wave. A great idea with poor implementation. They couldn't explain it to an intelligent adult let alone a child.
  
  So they will try this out and if they are lucky, succeed. If they don't succeed then they will move on and go somewhere else. (Leaving users in thin air)

@kenj i don't exactly share your sentiments on the hit-and-run Google, however Google has some relational issues.

If they are going for the music market, well good for them. I doubt if they need my best wishes.
