When To Add The Amazon Links?

Hi,

I am in the process of building a wordpress blog promoting a single Amazon product. I have heard that it is best to setup the site with the reviews and three or four articles and then get the site indexed.

After the site is indexed in Google, then go back and add all the Amazon affiliate links to the review pages. Is this true? If so, what is the reasoning behind it?

I would appreciate any help. Thanks.

    Hey LJ,

It's not going to hurt your ranking to have links from the start.

As a marketer you always want to be adding value to the market
place so it would be better if you put down 10 really high quality
article that your visitors will find helpful.

It will get you ranked and it will then make it easier for your review
post to get ranked quicker and easier and give you a much higher
    quality website.

    Juxter,
I've never heard of doing it this way. Links are good, especially to such high quality sites such as Amazon. As long as it's for the same product or similar products in that same niche you should be fine.

I tried it, got a good ranking in Google with a new site, but when I added my affiliate links the site dropped rank the next day.

To be honest I can't say for certain that it was adding the links that caused the drop in rankings (it could just be a coincidence) but I wouldn't take the chance again.

I always add in the affiliate links when I'm building a site and it hasn't ever caused any problems.

I always add my links right away to my amazon sites. I've never had any problem getting them indexed doing it this way. I remember quite awhile back people were having problems getting their web2.0 sites indexed, so many suggested waiting to add links until after they are indexed. I haven't had any problems getting my own sites or web2.0 sites indexed with affiliate links, so I do not wait.

I've always added my links in after my site was indexed. I never really tried it before indexing, but I don't see any reason why it would hurt rankings.

Absolutely no difference whatsoever, you can add them before, after or whenever you wish, i have never seen an issue with any site I have had indexed and its pretty normal for a site to enter high and then drop down for a new site.

SO I would not worry about it I always have my sites ready to go with everything in place

    Kickin it on Amazon
