Clickbank taking my earned money away...

OK so I had about 50 bucks left that I didn't get paid yet from product I promoted more than a year ago on my account. I closed the site and left the CB account as it was. Now I see that there are deposits each months. They started January this year and were $1 a month for some time but then they became $5 so all my money that were in the account are gone.

What's happening? Is it because I'm not an active affiliate? I'm starting to promote CB product again but don't want to have them keep taking money away. Should I create new account then?

Yep -- check the terms of service/accounting policy, which mentions this will happen with dormant accounts.

Personally, I don't see any reason to start a new account, because if you let that one go dormant, you'll get hit with the fees on that one, too. Just starting using your existing account and the dormant fees will stop.

Oh, good, I thought maybe I was punished for something. At least my AdSense account still has all the money in it. lol

      Thank you

It's in their ToS. If you don't fulfill the requirements to receive the money and keep your account inactive for a long time, your earnings will be gradually deducted.

One quick tip...when this happened to me, I just quick bought like a $2 product myself using my affiliate ID....this will keep it in good standing and might be less than what fees you would have taken out.

^^^^ This ... exactly. This is all you have to do. Buy a $3 product once through your own affiliate-link. That re-sets the clock and gives you another 90 days without any further deductions.

Even though I think CB does some dumb things this TOS policy for dormant accounts makes sense, as does requiring 5 sales with different credit cards before you can get your first payout.

Without a rule like that, many shoppers would just open a CB account to buy a product at a discount and never do any more business.
