I was wondering how you would promote an article. I got lucky and got on the recent entered articles on ezine this weekend. I've got tons of views and am wondering how to keep promoting the article and others.

I promote an article thru my blog (ofcourse), posting on WF blog and submitting on EZA.

One strategy is to link to your best articles from other articles, social networking links, etc.

I'm no article marketing expert, but I think that articles are meant to promote a site that you own; you're not supposed to promote the article.

Articles serve two purposes really: to get direct traffic, and to get a backlink from the article site. That's why the experts keep saying to only submit to the big article sites like EZA and Goarticles: the backlinks, and the other little article sites just feed off the big ones.

If you're promoting a new website, an article will be far easier to obtain search engine ranking for. Get some backlinks to your articles, get them ranked in the search engines, and if you have a decent resource box with a good click through rate you will get a nice steady stream of traffic from promoting your articles.

If you just post to EZA and forget about them, your articles will get a little spike of traffic when they're first published and then quickly fade away. Spend a little time promoting your articles which in turn promote your site and you'll get yourself a more long term source of traffic.

I recommend getting backlinks to your articles through social bookmarking. I also like promoting them really quick on xomba.com

social bookmarking including digg and sphinn (if it is tech content) may help. if its a really great article, try submitting to sites you think may want to post it.

20% is pretty good although the click through rate will vary depending on the niche you're promoting. If you know your target market and make the link enticing you should get a good CTR.

There are countless ways to get backlinks to your articles. A few are:

      -Social bookmarking.
      -Rss Feed submission.
-Make a podcast by reading your articles aloud and recording them.
-Make a video out of your article content and post to Youtube and other video sites.
-Make Squidoo lenses, hub pages, blogger blogs etc. Use free platforms to post content and link back to your sites / articles.
-Mass submission to other article directories and use your resource box to link back to your EZA articles.
      -Blog commenting.
-There are also services like 1waylinks, linkvana and others that are great for link building if you're willing to spend some money.

There are a lot of different ways to build backlinks. For a few more ideas you might want to check out the WSO that Angela Edwards is running.

      I hope that helps.

Would agree that backlinking is a great way to go for getting some quality traffic for sure. I always use the social bookmarking service socialmarker.com which you can instantly bookmark up to 100 sites quickly and efficently. Just about to get bookmarking demon as well which can speed up this process much faster as well! Just my 2 cents! :-)
