What would a site like this be worth??

Hey guys,

I'm somewhat out of my comfort zone here since I have no clue about this market.

But, I was wasting time on Google and came across this site -> tumblrgamous.org

What would a site like this be worth?

When you sell them, do you have to pay listing fees on directories.. or could you goto a website broker who will list it for free and take a percentage of the sale??

Thanks,

James

Before you can estimate the worth of a website they are some factors that have to be consider.
    The domain name
traffic status and where you traffic are coming from
    how much revenue it generate
    the domain age
backlinks(although some people dont consider this)

they are places you can list your website for free or paid listing. Flippa is one of the biggest but has a listing fee of $19. Digitalpoint forum is free..

As of right this second. That site to me is worthless. I don't know anything about it, nor have I ever heard about it.

If I had seen some type of statistics relating to visitors, revenue, expenses, and so forth I could give a basic estimate, but without any of that there's no say to how much money this website could be worth and no one can give you an accurate estimate.

It is usually based upon the monthly income. If a site makes $100 a month you can reasonable expect to sell it for about three times that or $300. This is just an estimate, however, and you never know what someone will pay for a site they really want in an auction.

I would say it also depends on longevity the earnings have been coming in. A site earning $100 a month for 2 months is going to be worth a lot less than a site earning $100 a month for 2 years.

If a site was earning $100 a month for 2 years, it's likely you could sell the site anywhere from 6x to 24x the monthly earnings. This is because the buyer can increase earnings/traffic and build upon something that is already profitable versus starting from scratch.

This site could be be a goldmine or just a pit of garbage? Why? Tumblr is one of the largest social networks or blog platform. However, there main audience are the youth or the teenagers. Tumblr trains like this are marketed or promoted to lure mass number of traffic. The system of Tumblr train is to post your Tumblr URL and others will follow you and so on and so forth. However, the target demographic is not that good since thens do not have that spending power yet. Domain-wise, it's fairly good since the word Tumblr is already present in the domain name. I'd rather choose other niche to invest my time to.

There's no way to tell what a site might be worth just by looking at it. You need to be able to factor in monthly revenue and assets such as a list, Facebook acct with following, Twitter acct with following and traffic as well as overall design of the site and whether there are special features with fancy programming.

Flippa is the most popular site to list on. You can go with a broker if you feel you have a site that is worth it. They will get a percentage of the sale.

You need to consider that if a buyer buys your website what will he get(eg domain name, hosting, existing traffic, plug ins, software, ads that are running, mailing lists, etc) and how much will he start earning immediately without investing in additional traffic. You can arrive at a ballpark figure by annualizing the monthly earning plus a price for all the rest of it.
