Default Can you promote your own domain in the main body of your post?

Maybe a dumb question.

I just came across a short post that I felt was blatant self promotion through a link to someones own domain in the body of the post.

I was about to give an infraction, but just to be sure that I didn't do wrong against the poster, I checked the main stickies. As far as I can see they say nothing about this.

However, when it comes to signatures they say;

No Affiliate Links Allowed - Promote Your Own Domain/s Only

So, I see a few possible answers to my question;
  • It's allowed.
  • It's not allowed and that's so obvious that it doesn't need to be mentioned.
  • It's not allowed but I just haven't been able to find where it's mentioned.
  • It's not allowed but have somehow been left out of the stickies by accident, since they concentrate on the signature.
