Would YOU like to own part of Blog Network?

Ever since I read "Revenge of the Mininet" I have been thinking about building my own network of website. While I have many blogs they are not arranged into any type of network. Some of the things that have, so far, delayed me from attaining my goal have been lack of sufficient resources, lack of enough money and lack of time.

I figured there must be many people in the same boat so it may be a good idea to join forces with like minded individuals and make the dream a reality, who knows with enough interest we could have a 1000, 5000 blog network capable of matching the best of them. (could you say a social network?).

My question to you is....
  • Have you ever created or run a blog network, what resources did you use?
  • Do you have any suggestion, tips, advice for creating or running such a network?
  • Would you be interested in taking part in a network - what can you offer?
  • What advantages would you expect to gain from being part of the network?
eagerly looking forward to your comments

    - I have created my own network. All wordpress based, all on my own server, 3 sites per ip, bought the IP's straight Arin rather than through the datacenter.

    - Suggestions, have a lot of patience. make each blog focused on one niche. Don't make it an article directory with tons of different categories. Be niche specific with each one.

    - No.

    - Not looking to be part of another one

YES, I currently run one. My programmer and I designed and built a beautiful PHP software package for complete blog network management. It posts thousands of times per hour to our distributed servers all over the world.
    • Do you have any suggestion, tips, advice for creating or running such a network?
They are expensive. Do it right from the ground-up and leave NO footprint.
    • Would you be interested in taking part in a network - what can you offer?
Maybe. I probably wouldn't invest money with strangers. But I may be interested in hosting the software that runs it. That would save a great deal of money and programming IF you ended up getting something together.
    • What advantages would you expect to gain from being part of the network?
Ability to post to the network.

This is a major undertaking and one that can sink fast if done incorrectly.

I would suggest focusing initially on upping your current cashflow from money sites, etc. and just use traditional linkbuilding to get there (or even tap other BN's as a customer).

You probably don't have much use for a massive network like this until you have operating capital anyway. Asking for "partners" is like asking for dead weight, because that's what you'll largely get.

You don't need hundreds of money-sites to fund the creation of your own network.

You can get there with ONE in the right kind of market. And then use it to fund your blog network, and therefore self-scale from there.
