Need advice on finding clickbank affiliates.

Have you noticed the number of products with 0 gravity, that is no recent sales.

Some offer some sort of incentive or a higher payout % to get the ball rolling.

If you are serious about getting sales from affiliates, the first thing you need to have is statistical data like conversion rates. You need to be aware of all sales aspects first, including churn (refunds). A Clickbank affiliate or any affiliate isn't going to waste their time selling something that has no history and sales statistics. If you can't provide them with all the stats, you might as well sell it yourself. Affiliates want to make money. they are making only 50-70% of the profits so they need to know everything, including an estimated ROI (return on investment) they may make selling your product. They will not sell something that they can't make a decent profit on. I say a minimum of 20-30% ROI. But the higher the better. Something that also helps is a give-a-way, for the highest paying affiliates. Something I tell my clients is give the affiliate everything they need, but don't give away the farm. Keep as much for yourself as possible for you and the super affiliates. It is they that deserve the icing on the cake.

If you do not have sales data and refund history you need to begin testing now by setting up a test campaign with PPC (Pay Per Click). If you seriously think that your product is great, back it up by spending a couple hundred bucks to get some real data. Once you do that AND get real life statistics to prove it is a worthy product, then follow these steps below, I hope it helps.

Once you have all that in place, then it's time to find affiliates. Either find an affiliate manager who has experience in your niche (but most will not waist their time on a $20 eBook) or Go to places like jv-network.com and signup (it's free). See what all the pros are doing and follow suite. All of them write a JV letter informing everyone on the site about the opportunity and give contact info out, and most of the time an affiliate website link is in the letter as well. You must pay to post your opportunity but it is worth it. But don't waist your time until you understand what the pros are saying in their offers. This is only the start. You have much to learn my young padawan!

Hint-Hint: Real,long term affiliate relationships, are created by real communication by phone and email. Hand Shake relationships are the only way to go. Don't wait on Clickbank and PDC to do the hard work for you. - Pete

What is the product and how your are promoting it? If you are not promoting it I will refer you to promote it on facebook.

Well first, you need to drive your own sales to it and see how it performs. That will also make it rise in the marketplace a little bit, so hopefully a few people can take notice.

If I were you, I'd set up separate affiliate accounts for each traffic source you use, and promote your product through them. That will also help raise your gravity a little and is completely allowable within the Clickbank TOS.

You can't expect people to hop on board when you haven't yet hopped on board yourself.

Use video marketing and send them to your clickbank affiliate page to sign up to promote your product. Tell them that they can make money promoting your CB product. Video marketing is the way to go and becoming a dominant force on the Internet.

Don't mean this to come across as harsh but the truth is that if you have a GREAT product that is awesome!

However the MAIN thing that top affiliates will look for is conversion rates and if your page is not converting they will not promote it...

I KNOW that testing is a pain and that is why 90% product owners launch a product on CB, don't test and then when they don't get affiliates they are surprised!

My advice:

Be the other 10%!

Getting affiliates on clickbank is not such an automatic or easy task. Its' very competitive, and you'd be surprised what product vendors are doing to attract affiliates.
I'm an affiliate and have received emails with big bonuses promised to promote the product more aggressively, and many sellers are giving 75% commissions to prospective affiliates.

There are many ways to attract affiliates:
1. A great Clickbank listing
This is what your potential affiliates see when looking through the marketplace on Clickbank.

2. Affiliate Resource Page
When affiliates visit your sales page many will try to find a resource page so that they can get help in promoting your product, I suggest you offer articles, reviews, autoresponder sequences and banners, at least.

3. Clickbank Marketing
You can place ads on clickbank, this shows your affiliate program to potential affiliates.

4. Ask your friends and contacts

5. Contact small blogger in your niche
If you offer a small blogger a review copy of your book they will often read it, if they like it they will probably review it.

If you have great product you could look for a joint venture partnership here on the forum. If your product is related to IM you could consider releasing it as a WSO.

CB is indeed very competitive. Tenured marketers carry out pre-launch activities of their products and invest in exposure for their forthcoming products months in advance. Reach out to prospective affiliates and give them review copies. Once they are impressed half your work is done. Offer a large commission which you should peg at 75% to encourage affiliates.

Thanks for all the great advice guys. I managed to get a very high ranking eBay advice website to send the product out via his news letter, at a comprimise of halving my price but only 50% commission, It worked great 25% conversion rate and at the moment no refunds, and the bonus of making more money per sale. Only been 3 days though. The problem now is, my gravity only went up to 1%, because most of the sales were in a 24hr period. One weird thing is I'm now getting sales with no hop link commission, how is this possible, I've done no seo.

Any advice for the next step would be great.

Some great advice guys, thanks for the input. I'm at a loose end at the moment, the current conversion rate for my affiliate is 31%, but the sales have now slowed down to around one a day. Is it worth me paying to advertise in the Joint Venture section of this and other JV sites? The Conversion rate is high, but the CB gravity is obviously still low (1.0).
