"Secret" youtube codes?...

Awhile back someone (a woman, as I recall) posted the different elements of YT's embed code -- and exactly what to surgically remove to produce certain results -- like what to snip so YT does not show related vids, after your embedded vid is done. She listed all these "hacks" in one convenient list.

Now I can't find that post.

Can someone post that list here?

Thanks!

It's easy. When you click on "share", and the embed code comes up, look below that. There's a checkbox that will automatically change the code to stop suggested vids.

    Maybe this help :

    Disable Related Videos

Just add ‘&rel=0′ to the end of the url part of the embed code and you just turned off the related video suggestions!

    Bypass Youtube Regional Filtering

Some videos are only available in certain parts of the world. Your IP Address is used to determine your location and then allow or deny access to the video. Change the url from http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=<somecode> to http://www.youtube.com/v/<somecode>

    Download Video

Although not inherently a youtube trick but useful all the same for downloading videos. Just change youtube to kickyoutube in the url of the video and it will take you to kickyoutube.com with all the options for downloading the video you were watching.

Cut the chase and link to the interesting part

Linking to a video where the real action starts at 3 minutes 22 seconds, wondered if you could make it start at 03:22? You are in luck. All you have to do is add #t=03m22s (#t=XXmYYs for XX mins and YY seconds) to the end of the URL.

    Hi,

Is there a way to prevent my visitors from clicking into the embedded video in my site and get straight to youtube.com to view the video rather than viewing the embedded video in my site ?

Basically I would like my visitors to watch the video in my site.

    Thanks!

      1. Embed the video in your site
      2. Take a screenshot of the site and crop out the embedded video player
      3. Save this cropped image and upload to your web server
      4. Remove the embedded video and insert the image into your site
      5. Get the URL of the video on YouTube and link the image to that page

        Hi CDarklock

Thanks so much for your kind instruction but I am sorry I guess I didn't explain my question properly.

Actually I wanted my visitors to stay and watch the embedded youtube video in my site. Just that I do not wish that they will exit my site and watch the same youtube video by clicking on my embedded youtube video in my site.

Cause currently my embedded youtube in my site actually give the visitors a choice to watch in my site or click the embedded youtube and go straight to youtube.com to watch the same youtube video.

So I wanted to know how to add "code" or whatever to disable the choice to exit my site to watch the same youtube video in youtube.com

        Regards
