Your PayPal Account Has Been Limited!

Except it hasn't.

An authentic looking phishing email is doing the rounds today.

For those that don't know, a phishing email purports to come from a bank, PayPal or some other organisation. They ask you to click a link in the email then enter your login details on an authentic looking web page.

Bang! You've just give your login details to the fraudsters.

Never click links in these emails. The only way to know that you're on the actual site of the bank, PayPal or whatever is to type its URL into your browser.

Be warned.

Cheers,

Neil

I get these all the time. I just forward them on to paypal's spoof @ paypal.com email. Never EVER use a link in an email to go to PayPal's site, or your bank, etc.

Today? I get that one on a regular basis.

Never click links in these emails.
Excellent advice. It's not just the phishing you have to worry about, but spyware, trojans, viruses and other malware possibly being on the site you visit.

You have to be careful there too, but, hopefully, major ISPs and most smaller ones have patched their DNS by now. (DNS exploit code is in the wild | Security - CNET News) So, hopefully that won't be a problem for anyone.
