Put together a squeeze page and a minor funnel, then got side tracked
... and completely forgot about it.

was doing some list maintenance, as im switching from aweber to
fusinHq and bamm, my error stareing me in the face.

so checked it out, sure enuff, over 600 in there.

so. like i said, ooops, screwed the pooch on this one.
any suggestions on how to contact these people, last AR
went out at least a month ago. so no contact for a month.

interestingly tho only 18 removes.

i have never let a list go dry before, so im not sure what to do.

any suggestions.

Why can't you simply send an email that apologized for the delay in contacting, but explaining that you're now back and ready to deliver tons of magnificent goodness to the audience?

Life happens; giving a reason why some life happens can help your audience connect with you too.

Get a e-Mail/newsletter what ever ready to go and get it out. You might want to consider telling them "Sorry for taking so long to get more (whatever) to them. Make what you send very valuable and don't market anything in it. Give them something free that is directly related to the info you send out.

I'm most likely preaching to the choir .. LOL

I do not agree with the advice that you should apoligize at all. And I feel it is absolutely the worst thing that you can do.

    Unless...

As a part of them opting in to your list you made some sort of promise that you would deliver content on a specific schedule. (once a day, once a week, once a month, etc)

If they joined your list because they had to, in order to download a product they bought off of you then that is different.

It could be that they are on a bunch of different email lists, and are being bombared daily with offers, and promotions, and you never know, they might be thankful towards you that you are not bombarding you in the same way.

This would position you differently in their minds as someone who respects them as people and not just wallets, and once you are in that position in their minds your relationship with them is deeper, even though you haven't contacted them as often.

If that is the case where they feel you respect them more, then apologizing and telling them you forgot about them will destroy any connection you have with them.

Think about how you would feel if someone told you they forgot about you. Not very important, am I right?

If I feel that someone thinks that I am not very important am I going to stay on their list? Not a chance!

It comes down to this... did you, in order to get them to opt-in to your list, make a promise to them and if that promise was broken?

    If yes, then yea apologize

If no, then apologizing is the worst thing you can do

Tell them the truth and reward them for sticking around. This will show you are human and you are making up for your mistake.

Congratulations Ken, you are human! I agree to send a special gift of some type because of the delay and provide great content. Remember, you may be surprised that they are anxiously waiting to hear from you.

Tell them you have been researching some potential that you thought could be good business. But the observation period is over and you think the business is not as profitable as it seems.
