What do you think about "making money oline" niche?

Hello guys, Carlos here. I wanted to ask you something that has been in my mind for quite long and seriously it's getting me crazy.

I want to know your opinion about "making money online" niche. Do you think it is still worth it to keep trying on this niche?

I am asking this because so far, all that i have been learning about internet marketing and how to market online, you can find it for free online but the question is why people keep paying for this information?

Please i kindly apologize if this sounds harsh for some of the members here but so far whatever i have bought on internet about making money online has the same approach just in different words.

What about this "dark forums" where these people post downloads for free about products you normally purchased?

Is the future of making money online niche in danger? what do you think?

I personally find it easier to make money outside of the IM niche. I've tried my hands at it and it lead me no where. This year, I started using those same techniques on another niche and I am quite satisfy with the results.

    1. Yes, that's true. Everything can be learned by taking some time search Google or the main forum. My guess is, with all the techniques out there, beginners feel lost and prefer having some sort of blue print laid out in front of them rather than searching for what they need piece by piece.

    2. I agree with you there. It's mostly re-harsh products. Words of advice, don't purchase from people who don't have a good reputation.

    3. I am guessing you are referring to Black Hat Worlds. For ethical and moral reasons, I advice against using this "dark forum" to get free copies of products you would have to normally pay for. That's just as bad as stealing IMO. Put yourself in the sellers' shoes. How would you feel if that was your product?

    4. I don't think so. As long as new people keep getting into internet marketing blindly, re-harsh products will still bring in money.

The MMO niche has been like this for a while and it is thriving. That being said, I have better luck in other niches. Lower refund rates, less competition... I only dabble in the IM niche though my PLR articles and writing.

    Hey,

Dash Evra has answered most of your questions but I just wanted to chime in on why people still buy IM products when the information can be found for free.

    One word: Convenience.

Searching for all the information that you need to be successful online without spending a dime to get it can take months, sometimes years. Buying a neat little report with everything laid out is much eaiser.

Also, I'm not sure I agree that everything you find online is re-hashed products. I've read a few WSOs recently that have had a lot of new information (and considering I've been online for 8 years now, that's proof that you're always learning!).

People buy because it's easier, more convenient and easier to digest and understand. Searching for free information can lead to information overload.

    Just my thoughts

    Thanks
    Eleanor

I just think people feel that the IM niche is the best way to start when truthfully, it's probably one of the hardest. Think of all the hobbies, niches and topics there are in the world... All these are on the internet.

IM is a TINY percentage. When you first get into IM, you might think it's huge and is the number 1 niche, but it's not... Too much focus is on the IM niche when you're a newbie, when I really think niches outsides it are far more profitable and are in fact easier to make money.

I do not believe the making money online niche is dead. I just think that it is a really broad market. Not everyone appeals to everybody. It is important to find where you products and services would help the most. Who would be looking for you product?

I once heard a marketer say that you have to know them. Be detailed they are Joe an out of work car salesman that is looking to learn how to be his own boss. He is looking for work during the day and studying IM at night. He has a wife who is mad that he is spending more and more money looking for the magic pill. And he has a son and a daughter 8 and 3. They are now having to eat at home and are used to eating out three nights a week. There savings are dwindling because Joe has been out of work now for 9 months and his unemployment benefits are gone.

He spends hours in the Warrior Forum each night, but is still to busy looking through the WSO's to get somewhere yet. He just needs the product that speaks to him, that shows him he needs to stick with it and keep going and not give up.

Be specific in who you are looking for and where they are looking for you. That is the key. Know what they need, know what you have to give them, honestly help them, and you will do great.

That's my two cents on the whole subject.

This is amazing. personally i've been thinking also on trying another niche other than MMO and it is very true what all the comments say : people get overload information by looking on the search engines and that's why they prefer "blueprints".

I mean if you think about it, what you should really learn about internet marketing is "generating traffic and copy writing" but better to say you should what's the process and how to start.

I don't market in the mainstream MMO market. I sell websites and domains and occasionally an info product that is usually related to websites, whether it is a Google News site or flipping websites.

But not all info is just rehashed. I've bought a lot of great WSOs that I got valuable info from. I buy from people in the forum that have good reputations rather than just shopping the WSO forum.

Look at it this way ... you might be able to find the information that you need for free, but you may not actually know what to look for. Having the info all laid out in a pdf is convenient and you just may learn things that you had not thought of or would not think of to search for. I do.

Although this niche is pretty competitive and there are a lot of users are interested in it,so I think it's worth to try on.

MMO is cut into 2 clear categories for me -

    1. Blood sucking, soulless bottom feeders praying on the knowledge that their market is not in fact "Make Money Online," but "Desperate To Make Any Money At All" - a huge and unfortunate market segment that are in an emotional state susceptible to the false promises of a little skill in copywriting

    2. Genuine, proven business opportunity models that provide a clear description of who will benefit from their advice and who won't, and pre-qualify their leads by ensuring they have the base skill set to follow through on the opportunity, and most importantly - support their customers. James Clear's Passive Panda blog is a great example of this.

Needless to say, there seem to be very few of number 2.
