Default Should I delete ALL email addresses....

That haven't even opened an email for the last 2 months?

My autoresponder charges me based on numbers of subscribers. But if they haven't even looked at an email for 2 months - should they be GONE?

What do you think?

Many people do not allow images to be displayed in emails and this prevents open-rate tracking from working.

So you have no way of knowing if the people you are thinking of deleting are opening your emails or not.

A better solution would be to find a service that doesn't charge you by subscriber numbers. Then there would be no cost in keeping them there.

Cheers,

Neil

I second that, find a better autoreponder service.

I have a service that charges me for anything over 10,000 names...is that abnormal? I thought most services charged more for bigger lists?

Hi Neil

If you subscribers are not opening your email you should really start at the begining.

Was the Subject of your email compelling enough. Have you done any research in your market of what gets the mail opened. Did you use their name in your email? Did you have your name in the email that was sent and does the group recognise it?

Did you send the email at the right time for your market?
Have you done any research on when it is best to send, generally Wednesday morning but different for each market.

Have you done any surveys in your market, I presume your autoresponder service can do that if not use something like survey monkey.

I do not know if there are any special reasons for you using the autoresponder that you use so I cannot comment on their charging model.

when you have anwsered, tested or thought about the above and have the answers it may then be time to delete emails. Personally I do not delete emails, mainly because I need a record of who has opted out. If I delete them then I do not know anymore. Often people will opt back in. I do the same for Fax, Mail, Voice and SMS.

Hope this helps.

I would leave them up there untill you have to start paying more monthly. The reason being they might have made a new email, changed password and forgot it etc. There is always a chance they will get back on it. I make new email addresses all the time because of the enourmous amount of spam.
