Why Does My "Thank" Button Go Away?

I notice every so often, I can't thank people for their posts because the button disappears.

I searched for the answer to this and also look in the support info. and didn't find anything about it.

Am I thanking too many people?

Is there certain forums I can't thank in?

Do any of you know what the reason for this is?

Thanks

    Hi TopKat

I think we are allocated a certain number each day. You must have gone over your quota. Been busy huh?

There is a limit to how many you can thank in a single day. Ask Bill (tpw) about that.

He'll play you a tune on his harmonica.

ok, Thanks Di and Paul. I thought there might be a reason like that.

Wow, but when I'm reading a lot of threads and there are so many really good responses I want to thank them for the great response.

I also wish there was a like button. I guess I will have to be less grateful on here.

    Thanks again for the responses.

    :-)

You have a max 25 thanks for any 24 hour period. This is on a continuing basis so has the clock ticks more 'Thanks' become available if you've used up your allotment.

There are no 'roll-over' minutes (Thanks). :p

Thanks Bill. BTW, is there any limite to the number of thanks you can receive in a certain period? Just curious.

Not that I'm aware of, and just for trivia's sake, the most Thanks I've ever seen a post have was 603 at the time I read the post.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's well past that now. 770.

I'd forgotten about that one. That got hundreds of thanks the first day.

Here's one with 1393 thanks. Not sure how many of those thanks were offered in any particular time period, though.

    #1,396...

OMG... seeing that thread is like a time machine, which reminds me "What a noob" I really am!

Good to see there are still those who still contribute after all these years. Amazing!
