My Curious Site Listings On Google... Can Anyone Explain This?

Hello Warriors:

I put up a new site on 19-December last (exactly a month ago today).

That domain name is the same as my primary keyword phrase and, contrary to what I expected, this is how it now appears in Google:

1. Keyword phrase WITHOUT quotes (4,400 searches a month) appears at number 5 out of 450,000 results.

2. Keyword phrase WITH quotes (1,000 searches a month) appears at number 22 out of only 900 results.

I don't mind since most normal humans don't use quotes anyway but, while I gave up trying to "get" Google a long time ago, I really did expect it to be the other-way-round (i.e. "without quotes" lower down in the SERPs and "with quotes" higher up).

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

Tommy.

Thomas, one explanation could be that you do not have the exact keyword phrase in the text on the page itself.

For example if the domain is losefatsuperfast.com... then do you have that exact phrase (lose fat super fast) somewhere in the page text?

      I do.

In fact, it's the H1 tag on the index page and also the first words of the first paragraph under it... AND it's the title meta tag (of the index page) too!

Yes I'm sure it would help if your keyword were the title of one of your pages. But that is strange.

I registered a domain around the same time as you for a keyword with 1000+ searches and 410,000 pages - and I can't seem to rank well at all yet.
