Google is mass-banning Adsense for Pakistani Publishers.

    at least 20+ 70% publishers
How would someone know the percentage? You'd have to know how many adsense accounts were active in Pakistan - is that info available?

If not, what does the percentage refer to? It stumped me.

I think the blogger had it right the first time, when he cited his Twitter timeline and 20+ publishers complaining. That wasn't nearly dramatic enough, so he pulled a different statistic out of a dark and musty place...

Other than his statistical license, the reasons he guessed at for Pakistani sites to be targeted make sense. Of course, other than the one about Pakistani clickers being poor prospects for American advertisers, it's the same reasons which will get you booted regardless of country of origin.

This is one reason why I don't rely on Google anymore.

BAM - your income gets killed.

'Tis much better to become a known authority in your site, I believe....

    Gee...

I've been an Adsense publisher for years, and have NEVER had a problem.

Sure, just like anything in life, it's important to 'diversify' and not put all your eggs in one basket...however, if you play by the rules, adsense can be a huge source of reliable income.

I've some of my sites monetized with Adsense since a over 3 years now, also never had a problem. If you follow their TOS, you should be fine. Anyway I don't know how about Pakistan...

And that reason would be... statistics pulled from a mythical hat by a blogger?

I wouldn't be surprised to see another crackdown on poor MFA sites as they are once again becoming common. You can see them in signature on this forum every day. They have content that says nothing - and says it poorly - and a lot of ads.

I believe it is the MFA sites - 5 page mini sites with adblocks strategically placed and EM domains - these are the ones google is seeking to destroy. Many stories online now about accounts with more than 20 sites getting de-indexed.

Is this a surprise to anyone? Of course Google would want to ban accounts from low quality websites that are just trying to make money from them.

Sure, adsense can be a bit risky but even more so if you aren't going to follow their TOS and put up good quality content sites.

Provided the TOS are followed and the sites created are ones of high quality, there would be no reason for such a ban. Adsense revenue is something google will not so easily give up considering the figures they post each quarter.

The common problem of Pakistani, Indian adsense publisher is first they take approve adsense using a good site then they use it on wallpaper or pirated download site.
