GOOGLE ALERTS - Old Strategy??

I have been using Google Alerts for some time now in my link building efforts, but it seems that I get more junk wordpress sites and crap adsense pages than quality websites to link from. My question is- Is Google Alerts not an effective method of link prospecting anymore and if it has become an old method, what is a better method for link prospecting nowadays?

    I use Scrapebox.

BHW - ScrapeBox is their discount link.

Really powerful stuff. Way too much to try and explain so I'll just let you check the site and see what it can do for yourself. lol

    Hi
I used the Google Traffic Pump System's way of using google alerts. Are you formating your questions with the relative keywords and it also helps to put the double quotes around phases that you are looking to answers and post links to. Also omgili.com is a good place to search. Also use the double quotes.

I love using Google Alerts - you have to be very specific in your queries, however.

You can do far more than the basics!

    Hope that helps!

If you're looking for blogs to comment on, Scrapebox, no question. I only use it to find high quality, dofollow, MANUAL approval blogs though. As long as the blogs are actively moderated, manual approval blogs are miles ahead of the low quality / junk "auto approve" blogs. You can create dofollow backlinks on high PR posts that can last for years.

As far as Google Alerts, I still use it to find forums in my niche. This is a great strategy that is often overlooked. You're automatically emailed a list of highly targeted forum posts that you can reply to. This is laser targeted traffic. Just keep your posts clean and don't spam.

Is there a really good provider of scrapebox services? I am going to stop getting alerts, because most of them are too old already or junk websites.

The problem with Scrapebox services is the quality of the comments & links. They're starting to hurt more than help long-term, IMO.

If you're looking for a Google Alerts replacement, Scrapebox to generate 1,000+ niche related keywords and harvest blogs, forums, whatever that have been updated in the past 24 hours. That's more effective than receiving email alerts if you're looking for mass quantities.

You definitely can get inundated with results from Google Alerts. You just need to filter through a lot a irrelevant results for the few good backlink opportunities.

Refining the alert options can really help too....

There is also a new product called "Captcha Sniper" that will solve your scrapebox captchas for you on your box, so you don't have to pay decaptcher. It is a one time fee. I reviewed the product on YT....

Any other techniques for link prospecting other than Scrapebox? I am looking for something I can teach an Odesk employee.
