Where is the best placement for a sales video?

Hi!

I'm currently creating a new product, and I'm going to have a sales video on my sales page.

But where is the best location?

Is it on the actuall page where the sales letter and download buttons are, or is it on a page where the visitor will be referred to the actual sales page (where the sales letter is and download buttons) after they have seen the video?

Thanks,

Jimmy

I'd test it out both ways and see what better converts for you. It would really depend on your market and traffic so I don't know if there's a definitive answer. I like to use Google Website Optimizer A/B split testing for things like this. It will send half of your traffic one place and half the other and tell you what converts better. Just a thought!

Split testing is the way to go. But if you want to hit the road running, just R&D what the experts are doing. (rob & duplicate)

They typically are putting the sales vid to the left with sign up to the right.
      It's a start.
Then drive traffic and while you are doing that, create another alternate landing page with a different layout. etc

I say you test and track. Which ever produces better results, go for that one. Like everyone has mentioned so far, this is a time to do some split testing.
