Help Please! How To Keep Track of Affiliates?

Hi Warriors,

I'm hoping someone knows an answer, a workaround or a miracle for this cos my brain's got scrambled trying to figure it out.

Let me explain what I want to do:

Step 1. Recruit affiliates - sending them to a squeeze page.
Step 2. Prospects who sign up are first taken to a free product, (registration for free webinar). So now I have the affiliate on board and their respective lead is placed in my Aweber list, okay?
Step 3. The upsell ... promoted via the said webinar.

How in blue blazes can I know who sent which leads?

The site is WP so if there's a plugin I'd be very happy...??

I know I can add tracking codes to my squeeze URL but then it all has to be done manually, including the paying of affs after the sales.

This is a membership (i.e. recurring) program I'm pitching, so tracking is vital. At present the product is on Payspree.com but could just as easily be Clickbank or PDC - but I can't see an answer to this.

I hope I've explained this well enough!

Thanks for any help, folks!

All good things,
Trevor.

I know that some shopping cart sites such as 1shoppingcart DOT COM

have affiliate program software that you can upgrade into.

Create a separate page for each of your affiliates i.e. squeezepage.com/josh and create a form in aweber for each one. That way you can monitor clicks and optins for each of your affiliates.

Hi ... this is the simplest idea and I can see how it would work if I recruit each aff by hand, as it were.

The problem is, if they sign up via Payspree they end up with a link like:

      mysqueezepage.com?id=AffName

If I could get Aweber to pick up that tracking code I'm home and dry - I thought I'd found a piece of javascript that would do it but I've tested it endlessly and I can't make it work. I've asked Payspree's forum for help too.

Getting desperate, but really appreciate all the ideas here - thanks!

      This will get cracked!

      Cheers,
      Trevor.

I think you would need to talk to your affiliate network managing the affiliates - for example clickbank or payspree.
I would not know how to do this, but i would have thought the answer would lie in cookies. If the leads all first visit your affiliate's link - or at least has the cookie loaded, it may be that the cookie is stored on the lead's computer for a certain amount of time (say 30 days or whatever) - then later when you have your webinar, and they purchase, the correct affiliates will still get credited.

As i say, i think this is something you would need to talk to your network about though...
