Opposite of Fiverr anyone?

Here's an idea...

Instead of building another Fiverr clone, why not build a site where I can post what I need done along with the price I am willing to pay to get the job done.

It would be like making the Fiver Request Gig section the main business instead of a sidebar with the added benefit of being able to post your own price.

I know that there are sites that offer this type of service but those are mostly geared towards big projects.

Too few freelancers would be attracted to it. Everyone would just set the lowest possible price they'd be willing to pay. You need to consider the interest of the freelancers too.

If they set really low prices, they won't attract any freelancers. I would let the market decide what is fair price for a gig.

True that. fiverr is so popular because it is only $5 bucks. If sellers were able to choose the price many people would not be attracted. We always look for the best bang for the buck.

I think you need to spend time study the fiverr clones and the fees you will be charged by PayPal (twice). The risks you are taking (to keep you reputation, you always in the face of PayPal).

my advice to spend time on these sites, and know how things are going (study the project). People who are going out of fiverr clone projects are more than the one who getting in.

There are even marketplace with no fees but they are not doing any good either.

There are probably between 500 - 1000 website similar to fiverr today (Yes, that much). and only few that actually counts.

This is a small list of few websites : http://www.fiverralternatives.com/p/...ernatives.html

These are not all, and i don't think anyone has all of them in one list

That's a great list. I've sorta given up on Fiverr anyway, in terms of all the SEO stuff available there, it's mostly spammy stuff - I know it's only $5 but it could do more harm than good for your SERP results.

Fiverr is such a great bargain I cannot see how the site you described could possibly work. May be worth a try but you could end up spending a lot of time on such a project for very little gain.

Check out microworkers, mturk, and other such sites.

While the typical projects are for multiple respondents and pay a few cents each, nothing stops you from offering a 1-person gig with a higher price...

Yes there are sites which offer services with price range. Fiverr is fixed with $5. so selling all kind of services for $5 is practically impossible. Same as like jobsfor10- jobs sold only for $10. 3to30.com, where you can sell small services for $3 to $30. And freelancing jobs sites like elance, greatlance offers big projects.
