Which ad is more effective and cheap?

Hello.
I am going to promote my first micro niche website with some ad like adwords or facebook ads. Can you tell me, which ad is cheaper and more effective to make more sales? For example, selling something expensive. Like laptops and guitars...etc...
Any advice will be highly appreciated

    Depends on your niche.

You can go to forums, blogs and sites that related to your niche. Then you contact webmasters for talking about the ads.

I'm no PPC expert and have had only limited experience with it, myself.

My strong hunch is that Facebook is going to be less expensive and AdWords is going to be more productive.

Each has a very significant learning-curve, and it's typical for the first few hundred dollars invested (particularly in AdWords) not to bring very many rewards. If you're interested in AdWords, Kamal, I strongly recommend this bookthis book : the latest, updated edition is due out in a few weeks. It's not really "for dummies" at all! I found even the 2009 edition far more useful and helpful than any information I've ever found online (some of which is plain nonsense promoted by "experts" with financial agendas of their own, to be blunt). I've also read one of Perry Marshall's books, which was the "next best" thing I've found ... but still a long way behind Howie Jacobson for educational value.

I advise you not to try PPC advertising without learning as much as you can about it, first. It seems to me that some of what you really need to know, to be successful with it, is very counterintuitive, and it typically repays people with very analytical instincts far better than others.

I do think it's potentially an enormously valuable skill-set to be able to acquire/develop, though. Just not a trivially easy one.

I doubt that paid ads like that will be profitable, unless your promoting something with a high payout, assuming you are doing affiliate marketing, a conversion rate to just get from your page to their sales page can be 1-4% that could add up to 25 X PPC cost just to reach the entrance of their sales funnel. Someone with a product can more easily make a profit while paying Adwords prices than an affiliate.

Going the slow steady road of SEO is a safer bet, though the payoff may not be for months.

If you are dealing in a non competitive niche, ad costs may be much less, which improves your chances of profitability.

One CPA course that covered all paid ad types recommended starting with Facebook because it is the simplest to work with, though the approach is different than Clickbank, using specific demographics settings can get you higher CTRs, in Facebook ad prices go down if your approach a CTR of 0.20%.
