Anyone sell NEW domain names online?

If so what all did you need to do before you could do this.

I am NOT talking about affiliate selling I am talking about actually selling new domain names yourself.

Becoming a domain registrar is a pretty expensive undertaking and you have to put a sophisticated management system in place, not the sort of thing an individual would tackle.

The ICANN Financial Considerations paper indicates a $7500 first year charge and $4000/year thereafter.

Here's an article that breaks it down and suggests becoming a reseller or affiliate is much easier.

To sell .com, .net and .org you need to register with Icann and pay their fee which I believe is $2,500K per year. If you want to sell other tld's then you'll need to register with the relevant tld bodies for these such as nominet for .co.uk domains and pay their yearly fee. TBH my mate had a domain company in the UK but sold it as there's no profit in domains. It's all the add on's.

Thank you for the info. I am looking for people who have actually owned one.

I am not worried about paying the 10 - 20K I am looking for someone who has actually owned one.

Richard, I wish I had known he had it for sale I would have bought it for sure.
