What happened to PayPal?

Hi Guys,
I am experiencing a strange issue with PayPal,
I have no problem with sending payment links to my clients, all of them receive them and pay without any hassle.

However, I do have a client that has worked with me for a few months now, he always get a payment link and he pays without any problems, but yesterday I sent him a payment link(through the request money menu) but he simply doesn't get the email. Not even to his junk or spam folders!

I sent the link 2 more times and he still does not get an email from PayPal.
Then he gave me a different email address but also this address does not get the payment link email. Like I said, this never happens with the other clients and also this client had no problems receiving PayPal emails before.

Any ideas or experience of this scenario?

What do you mean by "he doesn't get an email"?

he always get a payment link and he pays without any problems, but yesterday I sent him a payment link(through the request money menu) but he simply doesn't get the email. Not even to his junk or spam folders!
You mean you sent him the payment link via email, right?

Here are just my suggestions, you either tell him that he sends the payment manually to you through his own Paypal account (if he doesn't have one, I'm pretty sure it won't hurt for his side to make one, most especially that you did mention that he has been paying you through PP for months) or ask him to go online on Skype or any other instant messengers, just so the both of you can be updated at the same time as well.

I'm not really sure of you and your client's situation, but to be honest, it sounds like he's not interested in paying you. Of course, don't let that stop you from solving this problem with your client. I could be wrong, and chances are, his email just isn't updating like the other day I had with my Gmail.

I hope it gets resolved soon. Let this not interfere between you and your client's business relationship.

    Talk to you soon!

      Wrong,
The client is highly interested at my service but he simply do not get the email from them
I think it can be a great idea to ask him to send the payment manually
However - this is strange, it never happened before

I got a feel that it might be a problem with your client email and not a Paypal issue.

It'll surely help in your troubleshooting if you can send the link to yourself (another email) or the client's alternative email to test out.

I had issues with Paypal yesterday, instant payments ok, but IPN notifications very slow, seems ok today from the sales I have made. Maybe they had an issue yesterday.

^ My thoughts exactly. Using PayPal for years now and never came across a problem like the OP.

Funny thing... whenever I have a bill that I don't want to pay, for some reason it never arrives. I guess your client is just lucky, like me.

And then thought, WOW, PayPal NOT having problems?? What DID happen to PayPal!!!

    Then I read the rest..

Lol, seriously, why not troubleshoot the issue???

Use the request money feature and send it to your own email address.

If it arrives, he's a lier, if it doesn't, he is a cheapskate...

Either way you will need to simply ask him to manually send payment to your PayPal email address, OR BETTER YET, create a "Buy It Now" or "Subscribe" button and send him the link that you get 'for email' so he simply needs to click on that and pay you.

Probably someone who doesn't want to pay you is my bet

Very good advice. That way you know if he's dodging you or whether there really is a glitch in PayPal's delivery system.

Well, that is a good start to troubleshooting to see if there is a problem, but there can very easily be more to it than that. There are typically several possible points of failure on either side of the email "connection".

I'd go with - does not want to pay - or is stalling as they can't currently pay

Don't do any more work for them until payment clears, request manual payment and maybe wait a few days for their cash to arrive

hmm weird problem. Maybe the client is just bluffing until you give your product or service as a freebie before he will pay :S Just a direct paypal payment will tell the truth. if he is really raring to get your service he will do it without delay

I never heard and experience this kind of problem at Paypal. Maybe both of you have to upgrade the system. Or ask go to the HelpDesk.
