What Should I do?

I am going to register a company. I have thought of the name. But there is a small problem:

All the extensions for my company name are available mycompanyname.com,net,edu etc etc but the .org is not available.

What should I do?


Any solution besides that I acquire that domain name ?

    First of all I would check to see if the company name was already registered. There are still a lot of businesses out there that do not have their own websites, thus they have not registered their domain name.

    Secondly I would check to see what kind of content was on the .org site.

    If the contents of the website on the .org site are unrelated to yours, I would still go for it. If it is similar kind of content to what you are going to be doing, then you may run into problems down the road.

      The company name is available.
      Its a parked domain. No content

      Isn't it good have all extensions registered for your company name because obviously I will be doing online business for the company. In the future, the org domain holder might try to launch similar service and use my goodwill.

    You don't need to register every single possible domain.
    Just get the .com and the country you live in.

    There are hundreds of MASSIVE companies that don't have every extension.

    If the .com, .net and .country are available then you shouldn't have any major problems.

    First register the available one's and keep an eye on the .org domain too...

    If you see no activity from the domain owner simple get his contact details and let him know that you want to buy the domain name and offer him a nice price for it

    Most likely if he isn't using the domain and he will sell you the domain.....

    PS: If the .org domain is registered then maybe the person will NOT start the same biz like your's

      the org is expiring like after 6 years lol
