The top niche would be.............. ?

Diet, gaming, relationship,make money......................

I know that all are great niches if you work properly, any of those can make you money. I tried some but had lukewarm success.

But which one is really the top pic in terms of finding BUYERS, and not in terms of size ?

WOW, Wii, Ex back, diet pills, back pain solutions ???????

Anyone willing to share in what industry you finally had success or is this a silly question and a total waste of time .

I need to find a direction and have to focus on one particular one.

G.
P.S. of course nobody will reveal the exact niche, but the industry or the market would be fine.

Ouch, violation of rule #1 of this forum...

EC happens to be a member of this forum too.

        Consider revising your statement.

        =======================================

The following are the top 3 evergreen "Root Markets" with a constant flow of hungry buyers:

        Health
        Money
        Relationships

You'll need to drill down yourself - 'nicheify' if you will - to uncover the niche markets residing under the parent market.... too many to list really.

Thanks a lot for your answer. Those 3 looks like the bulk of the online sales, but I see your point about the "evergreen" stats.

I'm terribly sorry the rule. Wasn't aware and apologize to whom it conserns, incl. Ewen. Will delete that part. But I bought the AP from him so I was a client.

The perfect niche is the one you can see yourself blogging about every day (even if you end up not blogging about it each day, you will be working on it somehow).

Yeah, maybe I should add that my Q is in respect to affiliate marketing, where I put blogging as traffic generating tool and not to monetize.

I know that some of you might get pi....t about this because you are making money with a Blog, but I prefer to make my own pages, get leads and treat them well over email marketing.

But I have to pick one niche as it gets silly with all the updating, pinging, submitting etc. in several niches.

Guess that should be much more explained in the MMO books.

WHY in heck you should focus - answer : because the day just has 24 hours.

Of course you can outsource if you have money, but first you need to have it.

That's a very interesting list which gave me some ideas.

Do you mind answering if the #2 - cars, is for actually SELLING cars online, or do you refere to related aff. products and CPA programs.

I love cars and maybe that's a good one.

        AV. Monthly Traffic: 1,255,000,000
        Annual Traffic: 15,000,000,000+

With those niches you will prob. have some more "lukewarm success"

the goal is to find a hot niche with little to no competition.

then try to keep your little secret for as long as you can...

You are right if I would take those "as is". Of course I know that I must drill down to find subniches with less competition and so on.

      My point is.

There are niches (good ones) where you need a hell of a time to establish trust to sell some, and others where a kind of relationship happens almost immediately.

Example. I wouldn't feel fine to sell pills against high blood pressure or other health related products simply because I'm no MD. I already have doubt's to recommend diet pills which makes you s...t in the pants (I heard that with Xenical and ALLI shit happens).

And imagine someone bites the grass due to a recommendation I made.

The goal is to get a sale in max. 4 contacts (Article or PPC - site - 2 mails)

Actually, that dude is DEAD WRONG!

Think about this for a minute... Why would literally hundreds of people spend copious amounts of money on certain keywords day in, day out if the ROI wasn't positive?

I'm talking about a pond full of buyers and also, full of marketers.

Going into a niche market that hasn't proven to convert is a recipe for disaster whereas, entering niches that have proven to have buyers time and time again regardless of the world's economic state is where you want to cast Your fishing pole... not in some make believe ego-filled utopian mirage with only you sitting atop a pile of gold.

Successful business people who know how to grow their businesses spend money to make money... find out where they're spending their money and you can be sure that the buyers are right before you in abundance... the trick is to set yourself apart from the rest via USP and irresistible offer.

You make a good point here. Guess I have to combine the niches above with some stats WHERE the cash really sites. Online spending in 2008.

What I don't like is following each others path. Maybe silly as it would be easier but if everyone and his dog sells "Fat loss 4 idiots" I don't want to be affiliate # 32657 and promote is as well, even if the CB gravity is great.

          Anyhow, great advice.

            That is a great example.

Health -> Weight control management -> Failures at weight loss yet willing to continue to spend more and more money in this mutli-BILLION dollar market on a cornucopia of weight loss products.

Diet groupies have money. Most have tried and "successfully failed" MULTIPLE weight management programs.. no shit, these people buy and buy and buy and buy the latest and greatest newly touted (promoted) solution that completes the movie playing inside the prospects head - a skinnier me.

These weight loss junkies buy the programs to make themselves feel good and not to lose weight. Yeah, it freaked me out too when I figured out the buying patterns of these folks paired with their motivation which wasn't to lose weight but to make themselves feel good about fooling themselves that they were TRYING to do something about it.

Sounds like those in the MMO niche, huh? Well, the similarity is identical.

I've said before, people buy stuff for two reasons only:

            1. To solve a problem
            2. To make themselves feel better.

It's no surprise that the CB product you mentioned is converting because it caters to a very special buyer... a desperate REPEAT buyer.

You will become affiliate #32657 if that's what you choose to become. The difference between aff #1 and aff #32657 is a very slight difference which involves a little more work than the "thin affiliate".

What aff #1 knows that the others don't is:

            - What makes their target market tick (this means getting into the minds of the target market similar to the way a detective would conduct a behavioural analysis of a serial killer... knowing the personas of the niche is critical when delivering your marketing message in THEIR language.

            - Where they congregate - All puns aside (no cow jokes) but where this herd rests to lick their wounds (support forums) for emotional support is a goldmine of information and also a terrific prospect pool to siphon those interested into your email list... yep, those with the list will beat out all other affiliates without one in the long run.

            - Knowing what they search for online... these are the holy grail BUY keywords. These are priceless yet, they don't really change that much in evergreen markets unless a new product is introduced and even then, the long tail keywords remain constant.

So, you don't have to be a follower instead, you can be the leader for those who are seeking out a solution to their problem which happens not to be weight loss but to make themselves feel better knowing they have a solution at their fat fingertips (sorry, couldn't resist) whenever they FEEL the need for salvation or until the next late night weight loss infomercial airs that tells them to CALL NOW BEFORE they're done eating 3 gallons of ice cream so they can be "on the right path to freedom" when they buy the next product.

My experience in heavily concentrated niches is that most (part-time) marketers in the niche drop out for various reasons so you're really only competing with very few (full-timers) in a broad market with a wide range of niches full of repeat buyers so the money will come to you regardless of your perception of heavy competition.

Your USP and your marketing/sales funnel will differentiate you from the thin affiliate marketing challenged drones.

to be honest, I like that niche too and had some results in it (lukewarm like explained)

      BUT

I thinks in this niche, who wins are the big JV partnerships, big gurus hypes, huge list owners.

Let's take out fellow Chris Rempel here. I looove his stuff (we all do I guess), have sold some and all he offers is solid, great information.
So why are poeple which offers FAR less, using PLR content to publish a new book (cashing in heavy) are famous while a great marketer like Chris is still (almost) a insider tip (sorry Chris, no offense).

It's because particulary in this niche people LOVE to get fooled. Our brain and the fact that all wan't the fast, easy success makes people blind for quality.

Sell them "1 Million in 1 month" and they buy it. Sell "10 prooven steps to make online sales" nobody opens the mail.

Maybe some day there will be a IM Quality Label certifying good products.

I know good products, own a few, and have a hard time to market them because they are not well known. To say, I have no list worth mention.

          Hey Jay

I'm on my way here and hope your babies will help me a little. My thread here shows that I'm on a FOCUS trip. Anyhow I need to take action to see what will work.

If you stay still you never will arrive where you wanna be.

So IF this will work out I'm going to roll it out, definitely.

          Success to you

      WOW............Clark, that's awesome stuff.

Reminding me on something I have read several times, but like nature is, always tend to forget.

It's ALL about people and not about the products.

So basically you say that in FIRST place we always have to get the relationship, no way around, then, after establishing trust you can basically offer all you put your sig below and what is related to the niche.

Ultimately I start to think that it's absolutely NOT IMPORTANT in what of those niches i will work in if I use the great keywords AND build that trust.

      You made my day

P.S. that scares me a little. Are we really THAT sick ??
These weight loss junkies buy the programs to make themselves feel good and not to lose weight. Yeah, it freaked me out too when I figured out the buying patterns of these folks paired with their motivation which wasn't to lose weight but to make themselves feel good about fooling themselves that they were TRYING to do something about it.

If you want to sell anything, you have to know who your market is and what they want to buy and for what reasons - it's the reasons for buying that make the conversions but yeah, it "should" start with the people you are trying to help to show them options/alternatives to the common problems they face.

So basically you say that in FIRST place we always have to get the relationship, no way around, then, after establishing trust you can basically offer all you put your sig below and what is related to the niche.
I would first research the market to see if there actually is one. A good indicator is the concentration of Adwords advertisers perched on root level market keywords with high CPC's and for how long they've been there spending money.

Then I would research who the market is and what emotional triggers they respond well to and not so well to. All markets have many faces within them yet knowing how to address them properly is critical to the success of your efforts.

Here's an link about behavioural marketing which is relevant today which gives you the high level concept:

Persona-lization and Behavioral Marketing - ClickZ

Regarding building a relationship with your market, that entirely depends on the market and HOW you choose to market to them.

I cannot say that you have to establish a relationship with the market to be successful (there are many ways to direct targeted traffic to high converting pages without relationship building) however, I've never experienced or known of any other marketer that has established a trust relationship to fail provided that they have the right intentions for the people they are trying to help. That's your call.

Also, you don't need thousands of people in your niche - on your list or hitting your site everyday to be successful. There's so much you can do with and for a small group of followers/buyers that you overdeliver for.

Ultimately I start to think that it's absolutely NOT IMPORTANT in what of those niches i will work in if I use the great keywords AND build that trust.

It's a concept that isn't new, it's not unique to me at all in fact, it's just Marketing at the grass roots level but for some reason, too many people fall down when they overlook the time tested methods of marketing which hasn't changed for years... neither has the human condition for that matter which, is why it still works.

P.S. that scares me a little. Are we really THAT sick ??
        Nope, we're just human

Don't try to pick the popular topics that are hyped, why try to beat loads of strong competitors, often with a much larger budget and alot more experience? Do research and try finding profitable micro niches.

Have a realistic look at your skills, your knowledge and the money you are willing to invest and aim for a market you can compete in.

I was thinking about this the other day, given that I do have a lot of experience with the personal insurance side of things.

There are a lot of sites out there in this topic and clicks are expensive. Big banks and financial planners trying to out-do each other. However you will notice that there isn't a lot of REALLY GOOD information on the subject - everything is kinda general and the people looking don't get educated a lot.

I think an INDEPENDENT review site would work (not from research, but if I was searching for things on the net, that's what I want. I don't want to read about insurance from an insurance company because I know whatever they say would be biased).

I would concentrate on life, disability (both income protection and total & permanent disability) insurance, trauma and buy/sell insurance (where if you are an insurance broker you make most of your commissions as it is based on the value of your business).

On the review site, you would want something like:

      1. the payout rates on claims (because in essence you want your insurance to pay when it counts!)

      2. what definitions a policy would cover (eg for trauma insurance, most policies cover you for cancer, but cheaper policies would only cover you at later stages whereas good policies would cover you at early stages of cancer)

      3. how you would calculate the amount you need

      4. what certain insurers target (ie some are more relaxed towards people that are overweight or have certain problems. I know some insurers would not touch people with type 2 diabetes but others will) etc.

How you would make money from that I am not sure though ... because you are skating very close to giving financial advice if you have links to certain insurers etc.

Sorry got carried away, I think this is kinda off topic ...

Yeah gambling is a big one. I remember the late great Gary Halbert talking about that and particularly gambling systems. That's kind of against what I stand for though because I know a lot of people get into trouble by gambling and I wouldn't want to be a part of that. By the way I think a better question would be "How To Be Top Of Your Niche." And hey if you can be top of a top niche then more power to you.

Well no doubt sex is the biggest niche out of all but also there are fierce competition so thats why you see there are more Youtube views than any other niches if talking about promoting a product or service rather than just purely entertainment

I'd say health and fitness, and work from home. I recently saw a yahoo article that said gym memberships have increased by 60% as the unemployment rates have skyrocketed. Heart attacks have decreased by 40%. What does that mean? People who have been laid off have more time to focus on their health at home and look for smarter ways to make money.
