Should I do anything about this micro-niche site I'm not happy about?
This is the first thread I start, so be gentle I've been reading WF for a while now but didn't really get involved in the conversation, just reading and learning. Anyway, it's been more than a month since I decided to take action and dive into micro niche sites. I also made my first sales and I'm really happy about it, but here's my problem:
I've started with four small sites (three for CPA offers, one MFA), each one having between 2 and 4 pages of content. Only one has decent rankings so far and gets decent traffic, the rest are still work in progress.
And right now I'm faced with a dilemma. This site that gets the most traffic, didn't get any sales. Traffic is at around 30 unique visitors per day and I get between 2 and 5 clicks on the offer (I have around 80 click in October) and so far no sale. While I think it's a little early to draw any conclusions, I'm a little confused because another one of my sites, that's not ranking that well and only gets a few visitors per day already made 2 sales from a total of 19 clicks in October.
Both sites are promoting almost similar products (women cosmetics) and even though the first site promotes a product that's a little more expensive, it has a free trial, so I'm guessing that should appeal visitors more. But it looks like it doesn't.
And right now I'm considering rewriting the content on this site, because I think I might have written it in a hurry (I worked more on the second one) and the site could perform better.
But...and here comes my question...do you think rewriting the text could harm my search engine rankings (I am #6 for main KW and #2 and #4 for two secondary keywords)? I would want to rewrite the texts from scratch, or at least some parts of it. I'm not unhappy with the SEO factors like KW optimization and stuff, but I don't think the message in the presell text is strong enough and perhaps that's why there are no conversions so far.
So, long story short:
1. How should I change the content so that my rankings won't get harmed?
2. What is a good clickthrough/conversion rate I should be aiming at? The first site got around 450 visitors so far, 80 clicks, no conversions, while the second one I don't know how many visitors got (I test if not using GA has any effects on rankings), but got 19 clicks, 2 conversions ($16 each).
So that's my dilemma, would appreciate any advice from you guys. Thanks a lot and hope I wasn't too boring
